The thing I don't like about the upgrading system is that plants' damage doesn't grow in equal scales. Eg peashooters' damage can grow about 5 times larger during levels, while cannons for example won't even double their dmg on the maxed lvl. That alters the balance and makes some plants weaker comparing to the others.

I think one way to fix the issue of the level system is to make it so you can scale it yourself. I mean that you can still level up your plant, but there’s some sort of way to choose lower levels to be played with. Let’s say you got a level 20 peashooter. You have have an option to swap between level 1, 10, 20, 15, or any other level below what you have unlocked.

Honestly I think there should be the option to play the game old school by turning plant Levelling off, if that would work I see it satisfying everyone. A notification would pop up warning the player if they want to play the level without plant levelling, perhaps you can even choose which plants you like levelled up

number one chinese leveling system each plant has a unique ability when leveled up but the max level is currently only five but it makes sense since its absolutely busted for example a level two peashooter has a 10% chance to fire 5 peas in quick succession leveling up only increases chance (each upgrade increases both health and damage by 20% no matter which plant or how broken it is) like the next attack will fire 5 peas instead of the regular one same goes for the other peashooter variants except the gatling pea has a 15% chance to split into other lanes

In Chinese version every next level increases the plant's hp and damage by 50% of the initial. So lvl5 plants are three times as strong as level 1.

Leveling could work if almost all plants didn’t go up to level 15 or 20, and then have the mastery class ontop of that. I feel they should have just made level 10 max and not have mastery exist. Also they could have an option to chose which level you want your plants. (So if your peashooter was level 5 you could chose for it to be lvl 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5) when puff shroom is max and high mastery, it absolutely shreds everything and can pretty much indefinitely stall gargantuars. Also in vase breaker your plants are automatically level 1 regardless of what level they are in the almanac.

Hi zomvoid I think I found a method to easily pass pretty much all adventure levels (except Big wave beach). You can skip the cooldown of Seed Packet with plant food. That means you could use a cherry bomb, for example, and skip the cooldown with plant food so that you can use it again straight away. But here's the trick: Spear Mint spawns a row of spike weed upon placement. These then do a lot of damage for a short time. Use the spear mint as soon as the first zombie comes and when a zombie drops plant food just place another one. This is a big chain reaction because more and more zombies drop more and more plant food and you can place more and more mints. That's still not all. Meanwhile, if you place sunflowers and collect suns, you can use plants at the same time to support the whole thing. No zombie can get through that.
