For the lost who didn’t understand the “kill, steal, and destroy comment. The most important C is The Lord Jesus Christ! Here is the gospel of your salvation. It is free, it is available to all, and it is your only hope. Jesus Christ was crucified, he died and on the third day resurrected from the dead according to the scriptures . To pay for the sins of the world. All who come to him seeking forgiveness will in no wise be turned away. But the time of grace is quickly coming to an end. How do I accept this gift you may ask. It’s as simple as A/ admit that you’re a sinner in need of salvation and that you cannot save yourself B/ believe in your heart that Jesus Christ, is the son of God and paid your sin debt C/ confess the lord Jesus as your savior Romans 10:9 All who call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation. You cannot WORK your way into Heaven, you MUST ACCEPT THE FREE GIFT OF SALVATION JESUS PAID IT ALL Want salvation and forgiveness of your sins and avoid eternal damnation? Take it! All you have to do is ask. Call in Jesus NOW! Today is the day of salvation. God bless. For my brethren in Christ. Look up, for your redemption draweth nigh!

This is the most important element of "survival"! The mind is our most powerful tool and can be our worst enemy. 100% agree! Total respect for discussing this - you are the only one I've ever seen discussing this ouside of SEARS. You also discussed group dynamics which is also incredibly important outside of individual mindsets. Great job & Best Wishes!

One more thing about community is living in a challenging environment where you have to be able to care for your loved ones and maybe the loved ones of the community that has lost their life that you know would do the same for you. Even a small cut could become infected and kill under the conditions of survival. Thanks James

The mind is the critical limb in survival. Got to try it out when I got lost with kitty in the forest on a hike. Long story but the last two hours of the four hour hike during the seven hour hike was a test. We did good but it would have been easy to panic. Competence is unconscious actions not knowing you are competent. Great vid James. Winter is coming!

James, this was a very meaningful presentation & full of spiritual wisdom. Your personal integrity & spiritual values are very evident & DEEPLY appreciated. Several of your viewers (including myself) have expressed appreciation for your taking time to pray before you eat. That leads me to something that very few survival instructors mention in their lists of necessities, and that is the Bible or the New Testament. Wherever I go, I like to have Scripture with me or readily available. Whether in everyday life; during an emergency or survival situation; on a hike or camping trip; I feel that God's Word is "a Lamp unto my feet and a Light unto my path." As the Psalmist said, "Thy Word have I hidden in my heart that I might not sin against God." I am confident that many of your viewers are blessed by your spiritual integrity. May God bless you, your family, & all your viewers. To God be the glory!

I immediately knew the importance of this video and delayed watching until all possible interruptions were behind me. James, you are 110% correct in your observations. We have been tested for ten months and it was no fun. We did have time to examine ourselves. I am pleased to see how well the young troops Beautiful Bride brought to our marriage have rallied and responded to the situation. They have shown what they are made of as they approach adulthood. It was good to see the love and care given to the newest family member (our now four-year-old son) while Mom and Dad worked diligently to resolve the present difficulty. Yes indeed, this is another 10C list of great importance. Thank you for compiling your thoughts and sharing them in this format. My hope is that large numbers of good folks will absorb the concepts.

Well done sir. As the manager of a community of volunteers aged 60-80, it’s been a surprise to need to teach people how to confront. Confrontation with a focus on understanding where a situation went sideways without the expectation that everyone will like you. We strive to work with lots of different personalities and appreciate their strengths. But not everyone is a good fit for our community.
@WayPointSurvival

Absolutely! Most people have never really lived through a difficult time and so they have a very poor concept of how rough things can be when someone refuses to fit in or mesh with the local community.

Absolutely, I know one of the toughest battles will be acknowledging change and persuading others that their existing reality is over. It already is a tough gig. I've seen even Preppers who have a mental line in the sand they will not cross, it's going to be a nice drive from home to the holiday cabin with the kids ipads charged, cold soda's in the ice box and nothing you say will change their mind. I know you aren't like that or I wouldn't be here and I appreciate your delving into improvisation in your videos, a skill and mindset in itself.

From Musashi. The 21 principles of Dokkodo: 1. Accept everything just the way it is. 2. Do not seek pleasure for its own sake. 3. Do not, under any circumstances, depend on a partial feeling. 4. Think lightly of yourself and deeply of the world. 5. Be detached from desire life long. 6. Do not regret what you have done. 7. Never be jealous. 8. Never let yourself be saddened by a separation. 9. Resentment and complaint are appropriate neither for oneself nor others. 10. Do not let yourself be guided by the feeling of lust or love. 11. In all things have no preferences. 12. Be indifferent to where you live. 13. Do not pursue the taste of good food. 14. Do not hold on to possessions you no longer need. 15. Do not act following customary beliefs. 16. Do not collect weapons or practice with weapons beyond what is useful. 17. Do not fear death. 18. Do not seek to possess either goods or fiefs for your old age. 19. Respect Buddha and the gods without counting on their help. 20. You may abandon your own body but you must preserve your honor. 21. To address the elephant in the room, I'm an avowed atheist. I respect all other religions, but not intolerant followers of those religions. You, my friend, presented your ideas and thoughts about survival, not just in tge event of crisis, but in everyday life without falling back on what I consider the crutch of religion. You strike me as a man of faith, and I respect that. Especially when your faith builds you to be a better person, rather than a proselytizer only concerned with the "righteous" religion. I only counted two times that you even mentioned faith, and yet I could see your true beliefs in every C. And not the fanatic or extremism that plagues us around the world, regardless of denomination. So, thank you is what I'm saying, for your cogent, concise treatment of these considerations.

I have no clue where i remember hearing it, but when it comes to conflict and confrontation, i follow the rule of 5s(or some arbitrary single digit) The level of your response, or lack thereof, follows the rule of 5s. Is this gonna matter in 5 minutes? 5 hours? 5 days? 5 months? Or 5 years? I have a temper, but i also gave a pretty long fuse these days.... most days.... I learned a long time ago that most of the daily upsets don't actually matter at all. They don't need, and should not even get a response. Save your energy and pick and choose your battles. It also pretty crazy how many professions use emotional manipulation to get people to do what they want, salesman and lawers come to mind. Control your emotions, or someone else will.

Every one of those "C" is important links in the chain, but the one that grabbed me the most is #10 conviction. Without the Lord we have and are nothing. In the world we live in now, full of evil, hate, envy, greed, and need for power, the only way we'll make it to the end will be staying true our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The evil in our country is doing all they can to remove God. As you said, we have to stay strong in our love for Him, in the principles He taught. God blessed us with this great country. We now need to stand up and fight to keep her. Thank you James for all you put in to making these videos. May the Lord continue to bless you and your family! 🙏🙏🙏

I was w/ Search & Rescue for 10 years and we trained to not only rescue ourselves but the lost or injured person we were looking for... We trained white water to mountain extraction, we had advanced wilderness medical that covered every corner of the world.. We had to set up a shelter in 5 minutes, get a fire in 5 and get water boiling in 5, that 15 minutes could save a life from Hypothermia, or Hyperthermia.. We had a 24 hour pack and a 72 hour pack on the ready depending on the situation. "STOP" = .Stop, Think, Observe, and Plan was our moto.!

I started watching this video not knowing what you had to share and to be honest, I was a bit skeptical. But as soon as you started sharing the list and explaining each 'C' of emotional survival, I realized that you've assembled a formidable list that has everyday applications as well as a solid foundation to shore up the individual and community during hard times. Please publish the entire list at some point so we can reference it during the trials ahead.
