Something else that is pretty fun, is actually the Honda Accord 2.4 manual. Its a great NA VTEC engine for those who want fun and need more practicality over the EP3 or FN2 type r. Plus these cars are super reliable. Tuning the ECU is possible too, lowering the VTEC point etc. You can pick one up for around £2000. Very underrated and rare cars.

If you have a 330 manual then you're sitting on a good investment. Values of manual 330s are rising quicker than the e46 M3 because they are relatively inexpensive to fix in comparison. Hexagon sold a 330ci convertible with manual box for £20k last year and ZHPs in America are going for over $25k in some cases.
@Cuebix3 жыл бұрын
Had my e46 for over 9 years, exceptional road presence and reliability.
@Sf_Mason3 жыл бұрын
Have got a 330i Touring, and have to say, you are correct in keeping on point with the maintenance. Oil changes around 7500 miles will save problems with the CCV clogging up. Vanos rattle is a usual problem if it's not been rebuilt with upgraded seals. Cooling systems are known weak points, specifically the radiator and expansion tank. Oil pumps are a known week point if you track the car regularly, as these can be prone to failing. However there is a vast aftermarket support market for these, and plenty of forums / videos on 'how to fix' issues, usually resulting in a very reliable car and something that can actually surprise the hot hatches or such. Though the time of a cheap E46 330i is rapidly coming to an end.

Run an 04 plate e46 coupe, 83k on the clock. Maintaining a strong relationship with an independent garage and a good bodyshop pays dividends.... 💯😉 One main bone of contention for me is the rear quarter light window seals, one part of which is fastened to the window trim itself... To replace both in Shadowline (as fitted to the M sport), current cost is around £2400 to buy, before shipping and installation, chrome is around £2600 or more than the car's current value.... I do like these lists that you keep on coming up with. I would like to see you do something more challenging…. , living in London come October 2021 ULEZ will mean petrol cars from 2005 and older inside the south and north circular roads ( practically the whole of London) will attract a daily fee of £12.50 diesels generally need to be 2015 or newer to avoid this charge. Another sector is the vintage car market before 1979 that avoids this hideous charge. I would like for you to think what cars on a budget could reasonably be bought given the criteria to avoid this charge offering style and performance on a budget. Giving the examples that you give would be useful with the things to look out for…

The volvo T5s at that price will be older cars, and rare now. The 2.4 GT coupes come up occasionally at between 1500-2k. T5s were Mostly company cars with huge mileage. I used to have one, great car. The T5 convertibles are more expensive than saloon or coupe, and suffer from scuttle shake. The Saabs are decent cars, especially the 9-3 aero. 210bhp standard, and easily tunable if you get a decent one without bulkhead issues.
