Ultimatum is technically one where the bad guy won. Ultimate Magneto sought to make the world suffer after the events of Ultimates 3, and he did just that, killing millions of innocent people and loved heroes alike. Sure he died at the end, but the damage was done, and his son took out Xavier's golden boy cyclops to add insult to injury as the X-men of the Ultimate universe were trying to pick up the pieces.

I don’t want to be that guy, but between Ozy from watchman and Thanos from Marvel, am I the only one who notices a really concerning trend with certain comic book fans defending or even glorifying villains who commit genocide/mass murder because they say it was justified somehow? Because uuuuuhhh...😬😬😬
@sacysily89683 жыл бұрын
Well...yes. It's called 'pragmatism'. Logically speaking, without the context of emotion or morality, Ozymandias and Thanos (at least, MCU Thanos, the comic version is but a petulant child in terms of motive) were completely correct in what they were trying to do. Ozy prevented the Cold War from exploding into World War 3 by forcing the warring powers to unite against a common foe, and MCU Thanos was taking on the unenviable task of the very real and present crisis of conflict over resources from overpopulation. Neither of them were wrong from a pragmatic standpoint; emotion and morality is a biological crutch that humanity uses to justify it's motives and goals.
@TupocalypseShakur3 жыл бұрын

@@sacysily8968 morality isn't a crutch, it's a byproduct of social evolution and beneficial to the social creatures as a whole.
@jackrylebonclaw72702 жыл бұрын
@@Dantalisman not really. Morality isn't absolute, it's relative. Subjective, not objective. It shifts depending on circumstance. And much like religion, politics and all the other things that aren't categorically indisputable (and there isn't much which IS categorically indisputable really), it causes conflict. And worse, it's conflict which rarely leads to a worthwhile outcome, but rather the ability for the people on the 'winning' side to have an ego wank and go to bed believing they're right. Common morality states that all human life is precious, but that stems from a racial arrogance that we're somehow special. And we're not. What we ARE is out of balance with the natural order because morality says that everyone should be saved, rather than the brutally pragmatic, natural approach of 'survival of the fittest'. End result: Morality will doom us all.
@Dantalisman2 жыл бұрын
@@jackrylebonclaw7270 being on the winning side is what helps a society survive. Back in the early days of humanity our society was the tribe we lived in. It was small and it was pitted against every other tribe fighting for the same resources. Killing members of your own tribe weakened it and made it less likely to survive, but killing members of a rival tribe was beneficial. This permeated through humanities history. Christianities moral doctrines are specifically beneficial to Christian society. It was immoral to kill an Isrealite, but it was fine to kill another tribes members. It was immoral to sell an Isrealite into slavery, but other tribes didn't have the same moral protection. You're right that morality is subjective, but it's based on the changing needs of our society as it becomes more unified and less tribal. Evolutionary imperatives are extremely hard to get past though so it's an imperfect process, and some cultures are quite happy to reject that process entirely.

The murderer was stopped from murdering ever again, and the man who enabled him can't ever enable anyone else. Even if Marv got the electric chair, he had gotten what he believed was justice for Goldie - and perhaps it was, considering how utterly corrupt the judicial system in Sin City was - and accepted the end that he saw coming from a mile away once he was arrested. He even said "Hurry up, I haven't got all night!" before the lever was pulled. What was better, he got laid by Goldie's sister, and then got a pretty damn good steak dinner as his last meal.

@@jasonours6957 a scp is a something out of the ordinary/ an anomaly that is classified with a number by an organization known as the scp foundation or secure, contain, protect. These anomalies can being normal looking humans or creature that live here or different dimensions. As such they are given labels of how easy they are to contain and how dangerous they are to people. Some can even cause the end of the world if not contained correctly. There are anti meme ones and a scp called the flesh that hates which is a infectious skin disease that transform anything into flesh mounds that can attack people and animals that aren’t infected. If you’d like to learn more type in scp in KZbin and you’ll find people talking about them.
