I use shampoo bars and lotion bars to avoid all these plastic bottles. I clean with baking soda, vinegar and water. You don't need all those toxic cleaners. When you maintain your house with regular cleaning than you don't need these harsh chemicals. There is so much you can do in your own home to reduce the exposure to toxic chemicals.

It is discouraging how defensive people get about this topic!! There is nothing wrong with simplifying life to have less products and be more holistic. Also, to encourage anyone feeling overwhelmed, even just changing one or two things is far better than changing nothing! You don't have to do everything perfectly. But any step in the right direction is progress! ❤ I have been slowly trying to switch over things in my life and baby steps makes it fun and enjoyable and you feel rewarded looking back at the long term progress rather than overwhelmed.

It’s not about getting defensive. The issue is that it leads to a lot of fear mongering. And for a lot of us, it leads to obsession and worry which isn’t healthy. A lot of information on chemicals that is being shared by KZbinrs is being exaggerated. They’re looking at legitimate studies but it’s leading them to erroneous conclusions. Mice or other animal studies often don’t translate to humans. Think of how chocolate and grapes are poison to dogs but fine for humans. Dosage is also important. There are so many factors. It’s the body of research that is important instead of picking out a couple of studies.

@@BbGun-lw5vi I think it's pretty defensive to reply to *my* comment yet have nothing to actually say in response to me, and instead vent your complaints about the video, poisons, dosage, and KZbinrs in general. *I never once talked about that.* You're acting like I personally called you out when I made a general statement and shared my POV on simplifying and being more holistic vs not. So you clearly contradicted yourself and ARE being defensive and made your reply ABOUT being defensive when it had zero bearing on my comment. Lol P.S. My grandmother had cancer 3 times and almost all her daughters and other relatives on my other side of the family have had cancer too. You can sit here and be defensive and argumentative all you want but it's very ignorant to do so when you have no idea why someone is motivated to simplify and be more holistic. *And there is nothing wrong with wanting to do that.* Your issues have nothing to do with my comment so I'd appreciate if you talk to *me directly* if it actually has anything to do with what I said.

Thank you so much for talking about this topic. I try to chose healthier. One of the things that weighs on my mind daily is that my beautiful sister (who was a research scientist and tried to live a very healthy life) passed away in September 2020 at the age of 51 of NON-smoker's lung cancer. She never smoked and she tried not to have these chemicals around. We don't know if this is what caused it but what I'm getting to here is that lung cancer is the number one leading cause of cancer deaths. We were shocked when we learned that and shocked that she had it. She had a cough for months and were told by her doctor it was allergies, it was not. She left behind young children. If we make healthier choices maybe the companies will stop making these horrible products.
