The Ottoman Empire did not particularly exist as a Muslim entity but as a political and economical power. It just happened to be Muslim due to its geographical vicinity to Muslim nations and the Muslim background of its people. Anatolia and Southeastern Europe have always been a land of conflict between different Europian powers for its great strategic position especially after the establishment of big nations in the East and the West, so when we talk about the Ottomans, it's not quite about Islam nor about the Turks. It was cosmopolitan.

And where is Russia? Already the fact that percentage of casualties in Ukraine is much higher among the Muslim populations, that among the Russians. Or take Crocus City Hall attack: everybody, who paid any attention, realized that it was not confession, it was recital, by a person covered in bruises. Cut of ear, eye hanging on the optic nerve - really signals a just attitude. Want to say it it is not Muslim, but racists? The problem is that ethnicities and religions still overlap.
