From a player/coach perspective, yes they overdo their movement to return the ball. And still, from spectator's view, the feeling of making-it-up is still left behind. Not worth to watch.

Many in the US play a kind of 'hit and giggle' backyard badminton, not competitive badminton -- as someone who played a lot of competitive tennis, and then tried competitive badminton, I agree: it is a tough and very physically demanding sport, requiring power, finesse/a delicate touch, agility/quickness, and stamina -- in that regard it is a very underrated sport

Badminton is not something you can play in your backyard due to the shuttlecock being easily influenced by any sort of wind.

@@emericteo2043 Oh, I completely disagree. I can remember some very vigorous games being played in my parent's backyard back in the day. It was withering and fun at the same time. I wish this was more popular as a major sport in the U.S.

Such a pity the racket sports dont get as much coverage. Tennis, Badminton and squash are all so great to watch, yet the team sports just seem to dominate coverage. I follow tennis but only watch badminton at olympics, squash doesn't even get to compete at that which is so wrong tbh

I especially agree, but since team sports are always the most popular they get so much coverage. Tennis is pretty popular though, although it’s not as much as soccer or football anything else. It is a pity that the racket sports aren’t as popular because these sports are my favourite to watch.

The court for that tournament was so slippery that if you do long lunges, you cant go back. They are professionals, not entertainers, they would do anything to win, not to show off some random skills they've learned
