The murder of 10 year old Amy Mihalavek in Bay village Ohio in 1989. I never forgot that case. I remember seeing her picture everywhere at my highschool (Lakewood highschool), when she was still just missing. With advancements I'm DNA, I'm actually surprised that it's still unsolved.

We had a cold case solved here in Opelika, Alabama. They got the identity of Opelika Jane Doe, a little girl who was now found to be a murder victim and her dad did it. They found it out in January 2023.

The one thing I find sad about cold cases being solved is that even if the culprit is arrested or identified, there are some cases where the victims family members pass away before that happens. That always makes me feel sad for them
@WatchMojo Жыл бұрын
It's truly heartbreaking when justice comes too late for the loved ones of the victims. The emotional toll and the passage of time can be incredibly tough on families. While closure is important, it's a bittersweet reality that some may not witness the resolution. Sending heartfelt thoughts to all those affected by the enduring pain of unsolved cases.

Id love for the Murder of Billie Jean Phillips to be solved. She was bludgeoned to death in Madison County, Arkansas in 1994. We were close to her family, so it definitely hit home. There were so many suspects, yet it was swept under the rug, because she was known as the town hussy.

Suggested suspects, but the murders haven't been solved.
@FOWLKON1339 Жыл бұрын
@@missdeejay Edward Harold Bell in the 1970's, the chief for Webster PD at the time botched one of the suspected cases at the time and sent an innocent stoner to prison. The chief got arrested a decade later for a spree of bank robberies in Frisco near Dallas. Bell bragged about the killings, but did not get convicted any of the cases, died in prison on the unrelated murder of Pasadena resident Larry Dickson. Clyde Hedrick in the mid 1980's, a creep that actually preyed upon his stepdaughter, got convicted for Ellen Beason's murder, but there's at least four other women he's suspected of killing. The one lone conviction, former construction worker William Reece, now on death row, in jail for the murders of Laura Smither and Jessica Cain in the late 1990's, as well as Kelly Ann Cox in North Texas and another woman in Oklahoma. Budding serial killer Jose Castillon, a former nursing home orderly, responsible for the deaths of two prostitutes and the attempted on a third in 2001, pled out to life without parole to avoid the death penalty. And there are scraps of information on potential others from here, there, and back again.
@FOWLKON13399 ай бұрын
@@missdeejay they got two guys officially convicted: serial killer William Reece in the late '90s, and double murderer (potential serial) Jose Castillon in 2001. A third conviction is also in the mix because of the lone murder case of Crystal Baker. There are also two potential suspects: 1) Edward Harold Bell, a Long time sex offender who was serving a 70-year sentence in the murder of former marine Larry Dickens in 1978, who confronted Bell when Bell was caught with his pants down while creeping on some little girls. 2) The second one is the subject of the aforementioned Netflix limited DocuSeries: Clyde Hedrick. Hedrick is an all-around creep who prayed on his stepdaughter and is suspected to be responsible for the disappearance of the several girls who went missing in the '80s and early '90s, their bodies found in a secluded wooded area near a church on the far end of League City Texas.
