Curtis Price.. I always wanted Brosnan to be Bond back in the day, but when he was actually Bond he had some of the worse scripts to work with. Honestly, his Bond movies were some of the worst. I don't like it when they over complicate the romances. It was perfect in MI3 and had such a good ending. MI4 gave us all a heart-breaking scare which thankfully was saved at the end...MI5 had me worried when they introduced Ilsa (as awesome a character as she is) as a potential new love interest for Ethan as I really didn't want that and thought the ending had diffused it and after seeing Fallout (ABSOLUTELY AMAZING FILM BTW!) I was left disappointed---especially when I saw in the trailer that Julia was finally in it again and that beautiful wedding scene was such a mean tease!! I don't see why Ilsa and Ethan have to have some kind of romantic connection rather than just be good friends like Zhen and Ethan in MI3. *sigh*
@_ttnxo6 жыл бұрын
I do think Ilsa works best as a mysterious secret agent. Being a part of IMF (like she is in the quarter final of the film) takes away her distinctiveness. However, I don't mind them being a couple. Something I liked about Rogue Nation was that it didn't feel like a clumsy romantic plotline. I love the dynamic, tension and understanding between her and Ethan. Neither of them know exactly what their relationship is and I think it's worth exploring.

I totally forgot about the Helicopter collision against the truck which they did show in the trailer. Well trailers purposely show the deleted scenes in the marketing for the film as a way to misdirect the audience. That scene with Zola as he gets slammed onto the hood of the car was in the promotional trailer which they didn't show in the final as you specified. Man they really had a lot of crucial scenes that didn't make the final cut.

I heard a lot of people alluding to the fact that the studio was responsible for this. Let’s be clear: Chris McQuarrie has been known to live by the motto “if it can go, it should go” when referring to movie scenes and editing. The final product was amazing.
@FlicksAndTheCity6 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, McQuarrie has repeatedly said that and also that he considers the film in the cinema to be the director's cut. And Fallout was indeed amazing! :-)

Fallolut was the most interesting MI movie ever..the fully fleshed out characters, the daring (and scary) stunts, the filming...the length of the movie is NOT an issue as it was written so well and who doesn't want to see all these beautiful stars for as long as possible in one film..especially Rebecca Ferguson! I had to see it 4 times in the theater and voluminous times on demand tv...

@cheetosortiz27836 жыл бұрын
I would love more scenes to be added, especially the scene with Ethan and WW in the car, but I am afraid it might ruin the pacing and making the movie too long. The adrenaline rush of the action made every scenes in between crawl and I just wanted to see the next action sequence. Hopefully we can get a director's cut when it gets a home release.
@FlicksAndTheCity6 жыл бұрын
You've hit the nail on the head with the issue of pacing! That is often an absolutely crucial issue for why scenes are deleted entirely or cut down in movies. One of the reasons I enjoy making these types of videos is that I find it intriguing not only what got cut but the reasons why they were edited out of the final film. If M:I6 had been a 90-minute movie, then there could have been room to add in many of these deleted moments, however, at 147 minutes, it was really about cutting anything inessential down and keeping it flowing as much as possible. Christopher McQuarrie, imo, has done a great job. :-) As for a director's cut, McQuarrie has said he considers the version we're watching in cinemas right now to be that, so I doubt we'll get that on a Blu-ray/DVD release. What we will get on the home ents release is a deleted shots reel which McQuarrie put together with the movie's editor Eddie Hamilton. I'm looking forward to seeing what else didn't make the cut.

And in Fallout, when someone asks at the end how close they'd been to failing to stop the bombs from going off, and the answer is 'The usual'. :)

It be super awesome if the helicopter vs the bus/truck scene was in the movie cause if I recall, I think thats the part when August Walker and the heli pilot were like “I’m not goin down there in the clouds cause we dunno whats down there” scene, and it would’ve been crazier to see Ethan struggling over a near hit situation. After the blu-ray came out, there was revealed to be another cut scene that consisted of a fight scene between Ethan and Ilsa which then led to a kiss at the end. (kiss improvised by Rebecca Ferguson) Described as a "dance" by director Christopher McQuarrie, this ultimately got cut at the "11th hour" of the film. It would have been right around the time Luther explains Ethan's feelings to Ilsa. Ilsa was furious with Hunt that he had let Lane go because at that time, she needed him.

The reason behind censoring Kashmir from Mi6 was that they showed Kashmir as Indian occupied territory whereas the reality is it's geographically in India its a sensitive region because Pakistan is trying to occupy that reigon for so long so our film certification board asked if they could either rectify or remove it but that didn't happen so they had to cut that reference out I hope this helps to people who don't know why this happened and respect the decision.

Getting 'a bit fruity' in the back of a limo with Vanessa Kirby does not sound like one of the harder days in one's professional career as an actor. Except in one sense perhaps...

He was in Endgame, one of the biggest movies of all time, instead. Plus it wasn’t his fault.

Woah! I've seen the film with some of the deleted scenes like Ethan and Ilsa in the wall of mirrors and when Benji and Luther are talking how it's not a great idea.

The director did a good job cutting out the unfit scene. If this is a comedy movie then you would have a tons more deleted scene as not all jokes works and they always shot multiple alternate jokes as well.

Oh, yes, certainly I think McQuarrie did a great job. Really loved the movie myself - fantastic action, great humorous moments, and so much to enjoy! :-)

All of those scenes should have either been included in the movie, as deleted scenes on the home video release with director commentary, or seamlessly reinserted into the movie on home video as an Extended Cut (or Director's Cut).

3:11 correction: this scene where Ethan goes down the stairs is from the movie´s intro. Right before he gets the package with the mission. Delivery Man: Fate whispers to the warrior. Ethan Hunt: There's a storm coming. Delivery Man: And the warrior whispers back. Ethan Hunt: I am the storm.

watched the movie yesterday. loved the tension between ethan and the white widow. vanessa acts so well - so many times it's obvious there's some desire for ethan!! they should've left that car scene in the movie!!!

I think that truck scene was also cut as it shows the reference of Kashmir on the truck’s number plate like ( jk-some numbers) jk stands for Jammu and Kashmir state
