A lot of times they also change the design of the character to fit the voice actor (like Scar, his original design was completely different but when they settled on his voice actor they decided to change his design to better fit the actor). They also sometimes model the characters after other celebrities because it makes it easier for the animators (Aladdin's final design was based off Tom Cruise, Jessica Rabbit was based off two different famous female actresses of the time).

Hello! Interesting video. I do have a nit to pick, however, regarding Cruella De Vil. She may look "elderly", but please remember that Roger refers to her as Anita's "dear old school chum" (don't take the "old" literally). Is Anita elderly? Nope. Therefore, in order to be her "school chum", Cruella would have to be approximately the same age. She looks the way she does because she *smokes constantly* and probably starves herself in order to stay "stylishly slim". Why is her hair half-white and half-black? I'm not sure (though I believe it was that way in the original novel by Dodie Smith), but it isn't due to advanced age. Thank you for your time.

From what I've heard, the actual original version of Woody was not mean. That was a version of him that came a little bit later, but before the actual film. The mean Woody character was based off of notes that they had gotten on their original script and storyboards. Either way I enjoyed this video 😀

Ursula was Triton's younger sister and therefore was a mermaid at one point. Aladdin was actually restyled after a film called called Princess and the Cobbler. A film that was taking too long to finish so Disney ripped off a lot of the creative decisions including how the genie looked and creates Aladdin. There’s a whole documentary about it. So when I heard it was getting a live action remake I was STOKED, and it did not disappoint. The changes they made were well done and made sense to the direction they took the story and I cannot wait to get the DVD so I can watch it over and over again.

I believe the frozen thing was because when they had written Let it go, it was a too powerfull and empowering song for a villain and decided Elsa was not going to be a villian
