I used to teach in the NYC public school system in the late 90s. I received $200 a year to buy supplies for my classroom. I easily spent three times that much in the course of a year. These were great! I can't pick a fave, I love them all! My mom was a spec Ed teacher for 40+ years. Just saw the video. I am also a SPED teacher for the deaf and hard-of-hearing in South Louisiana. I went to DonorsChoose to donate and the grant has already been fulfilled! Congratulations, Mr. Ashanti! Your students are lucky to have you. And thank you Glue Guns and Roses for getting the word out about his grant. Without kind people like you, classrooms would be empty without the help of others. Teachers spend a ton of their own money to provide things for their students. This year alone, I’ve spent over $1000 for supplemental items to enrich learning. But, I along with thousands of teachers across America do it every year and expect nothing in return. Much love! I just saw this now...past the deadline however what an amazing idea. Donate to this amazing teacher or reach out to teachers or school districts in your area. My son who is now an adult was in the special needs class through out his school years. I donated but I also volunteered and spent time in the classroom and helped guide the students to make gifts for their families. Not just at Christmas but on other holidays and occasions. You don't have to have a child In special needs classes to volunteer. I think its an amazing way to give back to the community and share your ideas and at least for me it was a win win situation . Very fulfilling. Happy holidays
