I recently came across a commenter who stated that Elf's No Budge in Magnetic Pull was very close to Thrive Causemetics Muna. $5 vs. $24. Not in my budget at this time to pay twenty or thirty dollars for one cosmetic item, although the quality is sometimes significantly better, especially finishing powder and eyeshadow.

Something to note about the L'Oréal lipsticks is the scent. For me, it's overwhelming during application and mildly nauseating for at least 1hr afterwards. So if you're sensitive heavy fragrance directly under your nose, maybe find and smell them in store before you purchase xx

I 100% agree. Haven't tried the Loreal lipsticks in years because I remember how awful the scent and taste was. Thank you for letting me know so I won't purchase them again. Was hoping they were different by now, but I guess not.

I avoid L'Oreal lipsticks because they smell like a chemical waste dump. I also kinda hate Milani but they're more fruity smelling rather than chemical waste dump smelling. I like Revlon and Maybelline lipsticks because they have no smell or taste

Great ideas, this was super informative. They look very very similar and I hate to admit but think the side with the more expensive products looks more vibrant...... the side with the less expensive products looks slightly paler. I think it's mainly the check color. But they are super close and so many great ideas!

Hey, Lisa. I was just watching a fellow KZbinr she was a beautiful black woman showing how she color corrects with Bobbi Brown's stick corrector. I've been a subscriber of you for about 4 months or so and I think it would be interesting to do makeup for or with a woman of color. If you have done that please let me know. Personally, I have fair/light skin and always always have trouble things light enough for me. I think women of color may have trouble finding dark shades about as much as I have trouble finding colors light enough. Sorry for writing a book. God bless you and your family and please stay safe.

I never say the Armani foundation being compared to L'Oreal. I love the Armani foundation. I've heard of lots of dupes for the CT powder though, I remember the No 7 powder being one as well. I used both and they were indeed super similar, I could not tell the difference

I actually like the longevity of the L'Oreal foundation better than the Armani for my skin; however, I tend to have breakouts a couple of days later after wearing the L'Oreal (which I have tested over the course of a couple of months to be sure it was not skin care or sunscreen), which is a bummer because it is a nice makeup for the price.

I was wondering as a MUA, what’s your thoughts on silicone-, water-, oil-based primers and foundations and wearing them together? I recently heard something about it and started researching it some and everything says to use silicone with silicone, water with water, oil with water (but that you can use silicone foundation on top of water based primers). But if you were to use like a silicone primer with a water based foundation then it would start to separate and look bad. It makes sense, but I watch a TON of videos in the beauty community and have never heard anyone mention anything about the base of primers/foundations. Even in foundation tips videos where they’re giving reasons foundation might look bad and giving tips but never mention you shouldn’t mix different based primers and foundations. Granted, it doesn’t seem like a huge issue since from my research most foundations do seem to be silicone based but there are quite a few foundations people talk about all the time that are water based. So anyways, just wondering your thoughts! Sorry this is so long! 😅

This was great Lisa! I find Milani lip fetish lipstick in Secret and ColourPop lip pencil in Oh Snap to be dupes for Pillow Talk, and I actually like the drugstore ones better. I also reach for that Essence highlighter over my Hourglass one. No need to spend extra money to have great quality products 🤑

Great video Lisa, I can’t notice a difference between the two sides, I did purchase that drugstore foundation but unfortunately I got the wrong colour match and when I went back they really didn’t have one that matched my skin tone, I purchased a lighter one hoping that I could mix the two together but haven’t tried it yet, thank goodness I have my brows tattooed now that I don’t have to worry about doing them anymore Lol 😂, I used to hate doing my brows and could never get the right shape to them when filling them in. I use those small brushes that are in place of spoolies to brush out any foundation or concealer I may have gotten in my brows. I have dark dark hair including in my brows so it is super obvious if I get even the tiniest amount of base product in my brows. These small brushes help with that so much more than spoolies.

I bought the L'Oreal Nude foundation based on your original video. Although I love it, I cannot stand the dropper applicator. Tried decanting it and still so much wasted product.
