I thought I'd throw this out there to KZbin noobs, if you click the settings button on the bottom right of the screen, you can change the playback speed. There are a million videos on playing specific solos and scales, but very few like this that show you what to do with the scales and how to start developing your own improvisations and solos. Next I think I'd like to see how to take these out of "the box" an start working horizontally across the neck. Thank you for this instruction.

Super useful vid, Darrell. One thing you do in this lick video that others on YT don't do often is to play the lick in context. That's super important for beginning lead players like me trying to figure out how to put licks together. My favorite lick here was one you didn't actually tab out, starting at 2:24 -- I used the 1/2 speed setting to slow it down & figure it out. That lick was not only a great lick on it's own, but one that showed a nice way to link positions 1 & 2 of the minor pentatonic scale. I'd love to see more examples from you on linking positions like that!
@janholly30012 жыл бұрын
wish you wrote it down for others so we dont have to do the same :P lick sure is nice. I have trouble with 2nd lick coz it plays 7th fret on 2 strings right after each other and im not sure if I bare it or swap quickly fingers. but im beginner so I just need to figure it out
