The peel and stick wall paper I put in my RV toilet area came off. It just didn’t come off the heat melted, curled,and shrank it. I have painted two RV’s clean and scrub first, prime, and paint. I did wait before putting the peel and stick up after painting according to the instructions on the paper.

I’ve tried peel n stick options so many times and I just cannot get it to stay attached. It’s so frustrating. I wish people would share HOW they get it to stick.
@TrishBenedict10 ай бұрын
Me, too. Ditto Command hooks and the like. They stick on for a few days, and then the next time I see them, they're on the floor - face down, of course - and nearly impossible to get unstuck from the floor!

@@GratefulGlamper Yup. Done. The peel n stick stays up for 3days max, then separates from the wall. Sticks to everything else, but not the walls. 🫤🤔

I have a peel & stick backsplash that has been up for three years in deep South heat and humidity and extreme cold. P&S wallpaper, on the other hand, NO luck!

Older RVs Trailers used to all come with roller vinyl shades. Blackout, temperature control etc. Whats old is new again LOL. The lightweight accordion pull shades are also great. The magnet lights are really useful. Note - vinyl plank flooring is HEAVY and gets water under it if things spill. Good idea using linoleum, theres a reason older RVs and house kitchens had lino - it works, its light, its tough as nails. Stay gold.

Does your RV have a sliding door? We're looking at replacing the vertical blinds (with the ugly factory box) and I wanted to do a ceiling mount curtain track but I can't seem to find any where that shows someone doing it successfully

Hi -I wanted to ask if your shower was cream/yellowed due to age and if you had painted it or left it alone and its current condition?? We are finishing up a 25 yr old Fleetwood Discovery and reading up on what to do with the darkened shower or leave alone. Wanted to get your input. Thank you!

We didn't do anything to the shower - thankfully it's not yellowed over time.

just wondering what the effects of all these changes have had on your gross and tare and combined weights? have you ever driven over a set of scales to check? In Australia. it is believed that around 80% of vehicles are overloaded. I'm wondering what the figures are for America. it is very easy to underestimate what things weigh, especially when long term travelling.

I wish I could just paint over the wall paper in our RV. It’s peeling in many places… so I’m not really sure of what to do….
@GratefulGlamper8 ай бұрын
If the wall paper is peeling, there could be water damage
@LaJessChelle8 ай бұрын
@@GratefulGlamper it doesn’t look like there’s water damage, but I’m definitely going to make sure. I do NOT want mold. ☹️
@ShyMyersАй бұрын
@@LaJessChelle from personal experience you could of had water damage in the past that has since been fixed, still the wall paper will crack. I'm not a perfessional but I peeled as much Wall paper as I could and tried to sand the areas flush as best as possible. I then added the pink wall grout stuff, I would recommend finding something that is flexible as am noticing cracks but only in spots I used entirely to much. Paint on top makes it all look like one

How do you feel about buying an RV/camper that needs work?
@GratefulGlamper10 ай бұрын
It depends on the extent of the work - the biggest thing it to make sure it doesn’t have extensive water damage or frame damage

What you have done has taken 15 years off your RV's life. It does not look 20 years old. One of these days ask the kids to tell us about how they like their new beds and storage areas. Also, hindsight about how you might have changed the design if you were to do it again would be interesting. I have some attractive textured light wallpaper on the wall of my RV, but at least for now, I wouldn't paint it because it never occurred to me. But it's good to know I could. My ceilings are 7' high in the slides and 9' in the main part. Do you have any storage areas that are so high you cannot even reach them?
@GratefulGlamper10 ай бұрын
The ceilings are not very high in our motorhome so thankfully we don’t have any areas that are unreachable.
