The perils of overloading or generally abusing trucks. These vehicles when new are very valuable. Why not simply read the manual and keep to within the manufacturers' recommended limits? You will you trucks longer that way.

Why do all of these countries have ZERO weight limits on public roads? All of these trucks are GROSSLY overloaded! In an area with many 180 degree switchbacks and narrow roads they insist on trying to coax a 70 foot long way overloaded truck with an underpowered engine, and not enough low gears to navigate said roads. Loads like this also damage the roadway. You can compensate an underpowered engine with lower gearing. I am a heavy equipment mechanic, and I see a lot of work in whatever country that these trucks are in.

Even beyond the underpowered engines, the brakes on these things must be absolutly cooked, even if these trucks have engine brakes or retarders... They must go through brake disks, pads, shoes, and drums like nobody`s business... Either that or the only thing slowing those things down on an incline is the driver`s hopes and dreams... They must go through tons of leafsprings and shocks too...
