Ray Kroc actually scammed the two brothers. The brothers ended up losing all of their money and tried to open another restaurant but couldn’t contend with McDonalds.
@amyrivers40932 жыл бұрын
It was so sad how the McDonald brothers were tricked out of their business and it must hurt even more after the restaurants international success and that their name (even though it's a common last name) is on it. I don't think the majority of customers know the origin of the restaurant even with the movie that was made at a later date. I feel sorry for the two brothers. We didn't eat out or get takeaways much when I was growing up but I remember the first time my family went to McDonald's when I was 12 because it was only a rare occasion that we ate out or had takeaways that wasn't fish and chips. I am physically sick and everytime I had an awful procedure I was allowed to get a chocolate sundae and fries afterwards as a kid and I tend to do the same as an adult. I think a lot of people would have at least one fond memory of going to McDonald's. These days eating out or ordering takeaways is more affordable (Pizza used to be $NZ25 and you can now get a basic pizza for $NZ5) so it's not a treat anymore and is something a lot of people do regularly. I hope that you and your loved ones are well and it's nice to meet someone else who shares a kind thought for the small guys that are tricked out of their own success like the McDonald brothers.

I'm so glad people base their opinions on a movie instead of facts. Mac and Dick McDonald wanted to retire as millionaires, stated fact. They actually reniged on their end of the bargain by keeping their original location which was supposed to be part of the deal. That's why he forced them to change the name. Truthfully they would have been better off in the long run to let Ray run with it and keep their 1.4 percent. But instead they settled for a million dollars apiece after taxes, far from broke. Guess who ate the 5 billionth McDonald's hamburger sold; it was Dick McDonald. Guess he must have really hated Ray Croc to participate in what was literally a PR campaign for his hated enemy's restaurant. Grow up and stop basing your opinions on fantasy.

The folded eggs were freshly made usingpre-mixed eggs in a carton like you can find in any supermarket. Then they switched to the pre-made/packaged version instead. By the way, McDonald's is not the only company to use the pre-made folded eggs.

Supersize Me should have been included in this video too since it turns out the entire thing was a hoax. No one has been able to recreate that same amount of weight gain even after eating the same way and some have even lost weight and lowered their cholesterol. In fact, the amount of weight he gained and the amount of calories he likely ate don't match up. It's made even more obvious that Morgan was lying when he refused to publish a food log or offer any kind of explanation on where the extra weight gain came from.

Ok so one thing in your video that isn't exactly true; yes the McDonald Brothers had some franchise locations, ones that they couldn't control the menu at and couldn't collect their fees from. Ray Croc standardized the menu and made their franchise locations more beholden to the corporation. He's also the one who turned it into a corporation and is the only reason you have ever ate at a McDonald's.

Some of the stuff is wrong...sorta. McDonald's nuggets used to be made from pink slime until people got wind of it and changed the source. Ray crock night not have been the founder,. But in a way he franchised the business which the greatest probably would have never done. And the burgers really don't decay. My science teacher had one in his class room and it was over 15 years old with no mold. He probably still has it.

Removed my first sentence. Wrong info what I said. McDonalds, what can I say. Well, I don't eat at McDonalds because most of their items are all processed foods and I dont eat breads or grains at this time. Seems McDonalds cooks all their stuff through machines, so it is not carefully cooked and watched like in family Restaurants - I don't care for a production line burger. Also, It wouldn't worth my while or waste of money to buy a hamburger, then throw away the bun and just eat the hamburger and toppings. Plus I want better quality burgers that I can cook at home from the stores or I will go to a great family Restaurant and spend my hard earned money. So McDonalds are not for me, but I did eat there at times when I was very young and in school.
@Eidolon1andOnly2 жыл бұрын
Way to miss the forrest through the trees. Coffee shouldn't be served so hot that it can give you third degree burns and in need of hospital care. Here's some facts about the case that this video failed to address; the coffee machine was broken which is why the coffee was way too hot and the managers a d owners knew the machine was broken but allowed it to be used any way, the woman was a drive thru customer and the employee failed to properly secure the lid onto the cup so shortly after the coffee was passed to the customer the lid popped off and spilled onto her lap, she did initially ask just for the compensation of the hospital cost and McDonalds not only refused to pay her but also tried defaming her which is why so many still to this day believe it was a frivolous lawsuit despite it being valid which is exactly why she took them to court for more money and ended up settling for $600k. Even if she didn't accidentally spill coffee on herself she still would have received 3rd degree burns to her mouth a d insides just from takjng a sip. There are health and safety laws regarding food and beverages which that McDonalds didn't adhere to. According to your logic, if you were driving your car and got struck by another vehicle, it's your fault for the accident because you chose to drive instead of walk.
