My favourite theory is for Shrek. The first time you ever see or hear the name Shrek is when donkey asks what is his name. Most people just give the name no hesitation, but Shrek hesitates for a second, saying “Uuh… Shrek”. The theory is that he was never loved enough to have ever been given a name, so made up his name on the spot. I love it, as it just adds that extra layer to the onion/ogre!

the film is a very obvious jesus allegory, but i guess him actually being the second coming is a step beyond that. wouldn't really count that one or the pixar ones though as even theories. they add nothing. the jurassic park one is also a bit of nothing too, dodgson probably had nothing to do with the sabotage of the park beyond nedry's shortsighted disabling of park systems but i think in the book and deleted dialogue from the movie he does specifically target the theft for the weekend the guests arrive as he believes they'll be a distraction or could even be blamed for the theft over nedry.

You have to willingly sacrifice someone you love to get the Soul Stone, so getting Gamora and Nebula to hate each other so that one would throw the other off the cliff wouldn't work. When Thanos and Gamora are on Vormir, Gamora initially laughs at him because she thinks there's nothing he loves, which would have forever blocked him from being able to obtain the stone.

With ‘Inglorious Basterds’ it was Hickox that gave them away, but not just the non-German three. His accent played a part in it. The major mentioned he was good with languages and clearly pointed out that Hickox had an odd accent. That shows he was on their trail from the beginning. The three fingers just proved his suspicions. None of the other Germans noticed the slip up because they weren’t looking for it.

Apart from having Stiglitz, who was famous among the SS, with them I thought the exact same thing about Fassbender. I did German for 6 years and I remember saying to my other half, "You'd think Fassbender, who is half German would be able to do a convincing German accent", then the scene progressed with the private being confused about it. I agree it was his accent.

This is a fan theory video. They’re explaining theories not explaining true plot points. I can’t decide if you’ve misunderstood the video or just really enjoy that you understood the scene. It’s clearly what you’ve said, he was already on edge over the accent and behaviour of the group and the fingers pushed it over the edge. You’ve just taken this video far too seriously. Your comment was just as pedantic as the theory is convoluted. Maybe look at what you’re doing before being so judgmental towards others just having fun with context. For me the Stiglitz was an obvious on the first watch, the random military personnel wouldn’t necessarily recognise him but there’s no way in your mind that you can’t believe that the officer that was questioning them wasn’t aware of the officer killing Nazi that went missing. That was either a point in the film that was overlooked, which I’m starting to believe, or it was as intentional as the theory suggests. 👌🏻 You have no reason to even be bothered by that.

*I have the best fan theory. The Matrix is terminator sequel. In the matrix Morpheus says how the war started has been forgotten over time, but they do know humans blocked out the sun so the machines can’t use solar power. John Conner gets put into the matrix (forcefully or him sacrificing himself) and because he is a man out of time due to his dad being from the future, his genetic material being passed down eventually leads to neo (and possibly the “other ones”) Ths prophecy could actually be a plan by people from John Conner’s time. While decoding the Matrix so the humans could utilize it they realize that John’s brain works differently and he could bend the laws of physics. Then they theorize that if his dna getting passed down through the system would eventually allow for people to fight from the inside. So he sacrifices his freedom and allows himself to be captured and put into the matrix. But since there are so many humans, the trait is so rare, and so few people are looking, it takes forever to find someone with the gift. So long that it’s forgotten and the whole concept becomes a legend. Kind of like how the second coming of Jesus is now. most have heard about it, a lot of people have a working understanding of it, but most think it’s just a story, & the out of the ones that do believe it only a small percentage believe it will be in their lifetime. Come on Hollywood big wigs. That idea is arguably so much better than the last few installments of matrix movies, and definitely the last several terminator movies. You can hire me for less than you paid the people that wrote those train wrecks for much less.*

I'm all about The Thing theory that MacReady is The Thing. Beginning of the flick the dog runs up and licks Benning's gloves. Bennings gets shot and MAcReady puts his bottle in the gloved hands of Bennings. MacReady then takes his bottle, goes back to his shack to get drunk and becomes the first one infected. We see how he infects The Doc in the shack as soon as he puts him in there. MAcReady takes a swig from a bottle and leaves it for The Doc to drink. They shouldn't share food or drink... even a single particle of this thing could transfer that way. That's information the whole crew should have been told, but it was only told to MacReady and then the person that told him immediately gets killed. Macready is constantly separating the group and taking people down one by one, Die Hard style. MacReady even speaks the following, paraphrased line: "This thing wants to infect everyone and go back to sleep in the ice until it's dug up later. And once it infects everyone, once there's no one left to kill it, then it's won." That's why MacReady smiles at the end when Child's drinks from his bottle. He's just infected Childs... who would have known not to share drink if MAcReady ever told him why food and drink shouldn't be shared. Music cue, smile, its infected everyone and goes back to sleep in the ice because it's won. Why can we see MacReady's breath in the end scene and not Childs? Because Childs was cold and wanted to avoid that so he got close to a fire. MacReady wants to freeze, and didn't cozy up to a fire like any sane human would. He's far enough away from it that his breath billows out like a dragon.

Except the blood test scene disproves that theory. If MacReady was the first one infected, the blood test would have exposed him immediately.

The Jurassic Park theory makes zero sense. Why? Because Dodgson actually WANTED to get the Dino embryos. See, what's established in JP is that Nedry is greedy and shortsighted (pun intended), lowballing his bid to get the job as he was in debt and not actually realising how much work was involved (and that his bid was way too low), which is why he agrees to steal the embryos. Dodgson, on the other hand, is clearly intelligent, careful and makes sure his plans are thought out. If the Dino escapes had been his plan, the actual breakouts would have occurred after the ship left, leaving no chance that Nedry would fall foul of escaping animals (and also he would have directed Nedrys escape route so that, you know, IT DIDN'T GO THROUGH A CARNIVOROUS DINOSAUR ENCLOSURE!!!!!). It's far more plausible that Nedry is an idiot who didn't think further ahead than "power off means I can reach the docks without being electrocuted".

My theory is that Odin sacrificed his first wife/Hela's mother for the soul stone, but then took it back to Vormir later out of regret or possibly wanting to try and get his wife back. The stone was returned but his wife could not be brought back, so a while later he married Frigga and they had Thor. All this probably would have made Hela incredibly furious, leading to her revolt against Odin and trying to seize the throne, and then Odin exiles her from Asgard. He literally created his own villain out of his greedy desire for power 🤯😤

Palpatine created Anakin to give himself a "Young Skywalker" body to inhabit in order to gain immortality and to defeat death. This has implications for Rey "Skywalker" who did everything Luke refused to do by killing Palpatine. She is now actually Darth Sidious.

Then why didn't Palpatine let Anakin kill him in Episode III, when Anakin said that he wanted to? The whole "Sith transferring their spirits into bodies of people who kill them" thing was just nonsense invented out of nowhere by JJ Abrams for Episode IX.
@Sarappreciates
@Sarappreciates 9 ай бұрын
@@michaelcamp4990 First, this is my own fan theory, not exactly what Disney will choose to do with the story, so please take all this with a grain of salt (or sand, whichever you prefer)... First, I don't recall Anakin ever trying to kill Palpatine until RotJ. In addition, Obi Wan beat Anakin, so we can't presume Anakin was stronger than everyone else at that time. Also, it's not just JJ Abrams, but George Lucas too! In RotJ, the emperor told Luke, "Good, I can feel your anger. I am defenseless. Take your weapon. Strike me down with all of your hatred, and your journey towards the dark side will be complete!" I'm uncertain Palpatine ever knew Anakin wanted to overthrow him. I don't think Palpatine feared Anakin in the least. The rule of 2 in Sith culture is a culture of taking power for oneself. "Strike me down in anger and I will always be with you," even Luke said that in TLJ. The impression I got was that Palpatine was confident that Anakin thought of him like a beloved father figure. Anakin said he _could_ overthrow him when speaking to Padme, but he never suggested such to Palpatine. The reason Palps ended up not using Anakin's body for himself was that Obi Wan wrecked Anakin's body on Mustafar. In some of the materials that may not be cannon anymore, Palpatine was furious at Anakin's wrecked body. He made the "Darth Vader suit" to torture Anakin, not just to prolong his life. Not only did the pain increase Anakin's hatred. At the end of TRoS, Rey states that her name is "Rey Skywalker," which sent immediate shivers down my spine. Having been a fan for 40+ years, I took that to mean Palpatine won; he finally got what he wanted. Granted, I never in a zillion years expected disney to let the bad guy win, but that's what I took away from it. I also think Palpatine might've created Rey the same way he made Anakin in this theory, although I'm fairly sure Disney won't let it be written that way in Rey's followup movies, but I wanted to toss my theory into the mix while it can still apply to the story we now have at this moment.

I have a fan theory based on the novel Frankenstein. When Victor sent the electric current into the body the eyes opened . Thinking the corpse was really alive he fled to his bed, fell asleep ,dream of the creature looking at him then fled the room in a panic. Seeing him flee the landlord called the authorities , they removed the body and so when Victor returned later he assumed it had wandered off. Victor Frankenstein went Insane and killed his friend Henry, strangled William, killed his wife then chased his imagined creature into the arctic. He related his story to Robert Walton and Walton sent his letters to his sister once they were back in dock. Then the authorities came to Walton. explained that his friend was a Madman and Robert, embarrissed for his foolishness wrote the last letter to his sister with the false claim about seeing and talking to the creature.

Jurassic Park, the problem was that despite his assurance of not sparing any expenses, Hammond did in fact spare expenses. If he did the dinosaur enclusures at the very least would have had some kind of moat or another secondary protection, as it is it was a single electrified fence. Any technical failure could have lead to a desaster, Nedry just caused that to happen at pretty much every enclosure at the same time. Also considering that you brought up the novels, how much of a cheapskate and ruthless businessman Hammond is, is also more obvious there. So I would say that's a bad theory. Basterds: I think that was confirmed, saw a different video analysing the scene that also used parts of the script for that. The guy realized early on that they weren't german, but he enjoyed the challenge of catching them in a lie, so the name he put onto Fassbenders card when they played that game was a character that Fassbender should know based on his cover story, but couldn't know because it was based on a movie that was only shown within germany. The 3 finger thing is just something that pissed the guy royally of, because they made it so obvious that they were not germans.

It makes sense that the insider sabotaging would increase with the direction of the show focusing on Truman having a child.

My favourite theory has to be the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory theory about Willy's backstory. The entire movie, Willy Wonka was portrayed as an unreliable narrator. Look at his factory for example, no sane man would build something like that. At the end of the movie, we see inside his father's house a photo of Willy Wonka as a teenager. This implies that Willy had a falling out with his father after his teenage years and that his flashbacks were just his imagination where he remembers things in exagerated detail.

I struggle with the Gamora one, she didn’t start being decent towards Nebula until she had a little empathy put into her by the Guardians, then the ravagers. She needed to understand family before she meant enough to her. Thanos never created that environment and he wouldn’t have, they competed to better Gamora, she was the favourite and he was always pushing her to succeed, it’s literally why Nebula hated her so much. That was a deep situation we weren’t expecting and brought a new layer that made Thanos a little more sympathetic. I struggle to think that wasn’t a well thought out plan, compared to the slightly may make sense plan if put in practice differently and the stories of at least 4 characters were changed. 🤷‍♀️

I'm a big fan of the idea that "James Bond" is not a man's name, but an operation designation or title used by MI-6 for the particular set of responsibilities that one of their 00 agents takes care of. Every agent that fills the position of 007 is referred to as "James Bond," or at least "Bond" while on active duty, and since it is the only name that many operatives and assets know him as, they continue to do so when he is not on active deployment (such as when Daniel Craig's version was retired from active duty in 'No Time To Die'). This allows Bond to be a man of numerous faces, backgrounds, behaviors, and modi operandi. One fanfiction writer has gone so far as to refer to each Bond as a combination of the actor's first name and that last name, when speaking of them in comparison to the current Bond (i.e., Sean Bond, Roger Bond, George Bond, Timothy Bond, and Daniel Bond).

Setting up daughters to do the sacrifice for him isn’t a thing I’d put past Thanos if he knew it was required… doesn’t really seem like there’s any evidence he did though. He seemed shocked by the revelation, and what would be the point of feigning that? Gamora was the only one to see his reaction and she was about to die. It’s adding a level of convolution for no reason other than stanning how smart and ruthless Thanos was which, like… c’mon. He already has that whole movie revolving around him. He don’t need head canon to pump him up even harder.

As much as I admire Se7en, the stated theory makes sense. Doe had a plan, and Mills got in the way of it..... and became part of it. I gotta believe he planned on dying in the end, though - "sacrificed for doing God's good work."

Just watched this for the first time today, the 40th anniversary of when five teenagers spent all day in a Saturday detention at Shermer High (per the narration at the beginning of the movie). And here's my Breakfast Club fan theory: The whole thing is a figment of Allison's imagination. She's a basketcase with no friends and obvious mental health issues, so she creates a fantasy where she spends all day with the cool kids (and Brian), they all become friends with her, the jock becomes her girlfriend, and the principal gets a little bit of comeuppance. The justification for this: There's no way Brian brings a gun to school without getting arrested (or is dumb enough to try suicide with a flare gun). And Andy is at least suspended for taping Larry Lester's buns together, even in 1984.

I mean the Truman show requires an enormous effort to obfuscate and it’d been going on for decades… idk if it should be called “coincidence” that you’d have multiple tells crop up in one day, it’d be just statistics that a day like that would occur on occasion, yeah?

Those things could have been (and likely were) happening all the time throughout his life. They even did a montage of just people breaking into the set (Christmas etc). It's just at the time of the movie, he was actively aware that something was off and finally paying attention. It didn't help he was breaking with his normal routine and character, causing the scramble and errors.

Infinity War theory doesn't make much sense. Thanos looks shocked and seems disappointed when he has to sacrifice Gamora and he isn't really a liar, so those are most likely genuine. Seems like he would've been better prepared for this eventuality and probably would've thrown her off the cliff before Red Skull could even lay out the rules.

Im not sure why the theory that UP is a movie in the pixar universe would make its emotional opening any less emotional. UP is in fact, in reality, a movie. Everyone who watched it in reality knew it was a movie, and we all still sobbed like little babies by the end of those opening credits.

To Inglourious Basterds: Yeah - the villain knew straight away, and it wasn't the name. If you are German native speaker, his accent was a dead giveaway, at least if you know the signs of foreigners trying to speak proper German to hide an accent. It is not a surprise that the common soldier didn't recognize, as for a common person, it was probably rather unusual to hear foreigners speak German. But I doubt it was the case for the villain. Don't get me wrong, Fassbender spoke good German in this scene, but the way he pronounced, and especially his 'r' were simply wrong and overemphasized. For anyone knowing the English accent, it sounded very obvious that he was overcorrecting parts of the speech that are common for an English accent.

It was a great preformance.

The three finger give away.... absolute nonsense. its set during a war. Soldiers of all ranks lost their fingers, thumbs etc quite commonly. Therefore, and gesture with one or both hands that added up to three was fairly common. It was simply unspoken because no one wanted to point out a weakness. Also, no european country has a specific way of showing any number via a gesture. so long as the gsture adds up to three, its three. Its another Tarantino invention made up for his view of the story or the world because he doesnt actually know the truth. Another example, Hateful 8 Sam L Jackson's character would have been killed when he was shot. The bullets went up through his legs into his body. Too much damage to live for more than a minute or so, and definintely too much pain to move further, so why did he live? Because Tarantino had a contractual agreement that he lived to the end of the movie. Another, non-contractual choice. Mr Orange is bleeding out in the car at the start of the film. He wouldve been dead long before the point at which he could shoot Mr Blonde, quite simply, Tarantino ran out of reality, time and script ideas to cover it. When he hiding Mr Pink couldve easily shot Blonde and no one would know he did it because he was so well hidden.

@whoculture I made my own theorie about doctor who which makes too much sense. The tardis and the doctor are the same persom and the timeless child is the tardis preventing an epic multiversal event by becoming a time lord. We know tardises kann transform into human form (doctors wife) and they regenerate. They have a soul and his tardis is very drawn to the doctor and helps him in every way. I think its the best solution they can come up with the timeless child as it is totally full circle and emotional and so timy wimy not possible full of parodxes that it makes too much sense. Havent found this theorie online yet so hope someone agrees with me. Oh and the name of the doctor is jesus christ and when this get revealed earth and all planets tgey influenced will go bonkers so he has to keep it a secret. Jesus regenerated with a light and when he was with his Apostle they did notice its him but he looked different (so written in the bible) jf taht doesnt sound like a timelord.... Would also explain why he is so obsessed with earth because he change the course too much and regrets it (in my reading of the charackter he is not a fan of religion at all) but its a fixed point in time he can never change.
