The Popeyes I worked at always threw away anything that’s been sitting for too long it was crazy how much chicken and shrimp was in the trash through out the day.

Yeah I've worked at restaurants that will throw away perfect food after the 4 hour mark, just because it's been sitting (in proper conditions), some of my best days were working at a BBQ joint and before they tossed the food at the end of the night the employees got a chance to take things home, it was great because I was poor and really needed the food

At the Arby's I worked at we scrubbed the shake machine nightly. All the soda machine nozzles were removed nightly too and soaked in bleach water. Our chicken was always cooked fresh to order. The one Arby's item I would skip is the turnovers unless you arrive as they're opening. Once a turnover starts cooling it becomes a dry flaky mess. There's typically not a need to make fresh ones throughout the day so if you're there to eat at 5pm, those turnovers have been under the heat lamp since 10am.

That Ice cream thing weirds me out does the USA have no food standards or proper health departments that check the rules are being followed? I can personally attribute to here if you had mold even in a non food area and health department came in you would be closed down. I literally seen one pull a fridge out in the bar to test the areas behind for mold

Never complain at a restaurant.....they are in the back with your food and you can't see the shit they do to it. The movie "waiting" shows a lot of the possibilities that can and do happen.

I'm gonna call cap on ice cream call. I worked at 3 different bks. They all had and did the same standard of the ice cream machine. They cleaned the machine every night and then before putting the machine to service they would also set the machine up and set it to self clean before use. That's just the daily clean. It also had weekly and monthly cleaning goals that would require more break down. Now the icees were the thing TY avoid. They are usually a machine installed by coke that is supposed to clean itself with the product still in there. The most cleaning I know of was removing the handle and spout and that's it.

I can tell you now about the chili at Rallys/Checkers. Thughout the day as burger patties sit being warmed. When they expire they are all put in a tub then frozen. The next day they take a tub out fill it with water and boil it to reheat it. They then chop up the meat and add a bag of chili mix and stirr. BAM you have meaty chili.

An excellent third entry to the series. Let me add one. Be very VERY careful with machines that dispense coffee/tea. Some think that just because it's hot it'll take care of any bacteria/fungus that may be growing in the machines. WRONG! And the paper/foam cups are often stored in warehouses that house a LOT of rats. And where there are rats there are pellets. Maccas Australia employee here. All the meat is regularly checked with timers and if they are past that they are chucked. At least at out location EVERYTHING is fresh, besides maybe the drinks if they sit for less than an hour.

Wendy's baked potato, I can give you more information, I worked with a guy that became a friend when I was at McDonalds and while he worked at Wendy's before starting at McDonalds he told me some stories it'll be hard to believe but he was always very honest so here's what he told me about Wendy's baked potatoes, not only where they kept for hours if they wasn't sold they'd be refrigerated and warmed up the next day and he even remembers the time they didn't sell them the following day and once again they refrigerated them again for the next day untill they sold, and that's on top of the story he told me that I mentioned in a previous Babble Top comment where they was putting green and moldy burgers into the chilli, honestly I haven't eaten in Wendy's in years and before I knew my friend I ate at Wendy's a lot, Thanks for the video Babble Top excellent as always

I don't know of anyone that would think they fast food places would cook anything fresh. In order for their signature foods to stay consistent, they usually cook them in large batches and ship it to their stores. I don't think there is anything wrong with that.

As a former employee at In-N-Out, the shake machine is cleaned out every night no matter what. It’s got a whole multi step process and I’ve never heard of it being skipped on purpose. Usually a higher level associate does it to ensure a higher quality of cleanliness. Once it was forgotten but we just had to do it in the morning before selling any shakes.

I was a manager for a fast food chain out of North Carolina called “Cook Out”. They would grill the chicken and then place it in a pan of melted butter to hold. Not exactly a healthy option to a burger.

Dairy Queens soft serve machine is cleaned every night!! And also fancy restaurants cook many dishes ahead of time and just warm it up and feed it to you and charge an arm and leg!

in most places the food is fresh when its busy or peak hours, in my local restaurant is always like that, the problem is i need to wait quite a bit to get the food when, i say i bit, can go up to 20 minutes for just for 2 burghers but the food is piping hot most of the time and i can see them constantly cooking in the kitchen, other times i went and i spoke with the staff working there is in between peak hours when they aren't busy, but to order the basic items on their menu for kfc, mcdonalds, wendy, for example on McDonald's, the double burger or the quarter is always fresh as they constantly sell them and they always need to cook the meat as they run out quickly, on a side note they said at closing hours the food is always fresh as they don't cook a lot so if someone orders a slightly bigger order they need to cook all the items on that order but if they were busy just before the closing time they might get leftover food as they cooked a lot for that "rush" they just had before they got to closing time. in my experience, its best to come right after they finished the lunch rush or the dinner rush but not to long after, food was always piping hot, worst experience i had is when they were 20 minutes until they closed and i got some lets say, slightly warm food, it wasn't completely cold but still would have preferred it more hot

Well you are a lucky one. I got food poisoning from that a couple years ago. I think it came from the gravy. The store also closed for good that same night. The district manager said it was from the soda I had along with my ice cream, saying his words “you created a root beer float in your stomach and that’s what happened” I called BS. They sent me a coupon for the exact same thing for me to use at another location, however I let that thing expire. There was no way I was going to spend money there. Haven’t been back sense and never will.

It's really not that difficult to ask for grilled chicken to be cooked to oder. Also there is no such thing as a secret menu at any restaurant or coffee shop. Ask for your fried chicken sandwich to be cooked to oder too.

I love Mac & cheese so my first, and last time I went to Panera that is what I ordered. It was disgusting. Even though we have the next two locally I never go to them. My spidey sense must have warned me LOL. Same with Chipotle and Starbucks. I also agree with Dairy Queen making the list. It was another once and done. We clean our machine everyday at our McDonald’s. We spend at least two hours doing it and it’s a real pain. I still don’t recommend you get ice cream from us though.

I use to work at kfc and I can say the chicken sandwich is half cooked put in the cooler untill they need to make a batch of them they will make 7 at a time than leave them in the hot box for max 4 hours than throw them away if not bought they dropbthem for 1 minute when someone orders them to say they are fresh when there not same with chicken they will make 3 bag of it and won't replace it untill 3 hours of it sitting out if not bought.

I’ve worked at many restaurant and have never seen anything like this. Why would they risk the expense of a lawsuit just to save a few cents in garnishes, it makes no sense. The dishes end up in tubs and go back to the dishwasher. They would have to be intercepted before then and collected to be reused. I think this one was an isolated case by whoever reported it.

The grilled chicken sandwich I got from Chick-Fil-A was a VERY SAD SANDWICH...it was as bland as hospital food... the grilled chicken on that sandwich tasted like someone told the employees to "just add a very small amount of salt and that's it" and even WORSE... you cannot even order "add onions" to ANY Chick-Fil-A sandwich...me coming from the "Burger King generation" where "you can get it your way" SOMEONE needs to tell Chick-Fil-A that "no onions available for their sandwiches" isn't going to fly!

As someone who works at Chick-fil-a. Onions is one the toppings that most people ask not have on their sandwiches. We don't even have onions in our restaurants. I guarantee you that if onions were requested often enough. Corporate would hear that and offer them as a topping. I like their Grilled chicken sandwiches. They don't put a lot of salt on them. They soak in marinade that has lemon juice in it. It's supposed to be a healthier option.
