No she is from England. She is Uk registered and the Uk government funded half the project with carnival funding the other half of the money. She was built in a France ship yard by British engineers and was designed by British architects. The French didn’t have much to do with her construction the ship yard was just used as it was the biggest at the time to accommodate her construction. But she was mostly British government funded. Registered to the UK Operated by a Uk company Cunard. A ship based of British values. Sails under British territory. And being a British ship she is also under the Royal Navy act meaning the Royal Navy can claim the vessel if she was ever needed for war time service. She is a Uk ocean liner built to serve the Uk and US. Funded by the UK and partly by the US.

Queen Mary 2 isn't a Ocean liner, she is an Cruise ship build to look like a Ocean liner and with some of the gimmick of the ocean liners. It's part of the Cunard gimmick/pr. They found out that they can attract a lot of customers, that way. it dosent make it a Ocean liner, it's still a cruise ships. A cruise ship is a ship with a hotel with a lot of "fun" thing to do onboard. A ocean liner is build with the purpose to transport people across the ocean, in standard comfortable cabins and having good restaurants onboard, so people can eat and occasionally some minor extra facility, but no playthings like a cruise ship have.
