Meet the Bags Packed Family: Jonathan and Kelly, along with our three adventurous children. Nine years ago, we embarked on an incredible journey, leaving our home in Alaska, USA, behind to explore the world. As teachers, we were fortunate to find amazing opportunities in Chennai, India, where we spent two enriching years. Seeking new experiences, we then made our way to the United Arab Emirates.
Just as we were settling into our UAE life, the pandemic struck, but it didn't dampen our spirits. Instead, we saw it as an opportunity for another chapter in our journey. We moved to Indonesia, where we currently hold teaching jobs, and it has been a time of learning, growth, and connection.
As a family, we thrive on traveling and embracing the unknown. Adventures are our way of life, and through our experiences, we aim to inspire our children to be confident in meeting new people, trying diverse cuisines, and immersing themselves in different languages and cultures.

That salted fish , we call “Miang Pla Pao ,เมี่ยงปลาเผา”. And we don’t eat it in that way, first put some vegetable on your hand. Then put fish meat and some noodle on that…. Some sauce too. Make it like a tiny ball or a tiny bowl then eat all of that in one bite. Next time if you get a chance, i hope you can enjoy it in the right way😊 And yes, that salt is not for eating, it’s just for protecting fish from burnt😅
