I've gotten to the point that I chase dupe/clone/middle easterns pretty much exclusively. There are only a few designers that I'm actually interested in picking up, but only because I can't find them on the 'inspired by' market. Doesn't matter how much money I make, the thrill of finding something that is not only comparable, but often performs better than the original is worth more than the prestige of owning the name brand stuff... Especially since no one will be able to tell the difference unless they see the bottle. They will only know I smell great.

Couldn't agree more. 3 clones I would definitely recommend is amber oud ruby - a mind blowing br540 clone, l'aventure knight - a better performing GIT clone and I bought a friend CDNIM parfum. I have to agree, might go exclusively middle Eastern clone going forward. Although, just smelled how good stronger than you intensely so may still buy a few designers. Always worried they get reformulated though

Couldn't agree with you more, for the past 2 years I have increased my collection with the middle eastern brands that of Armaf, Afnan, Al Haramain, Ard Al Zafaaran, Rasasi and Lattafa. After getting into these brands, its hard to look at designers which are doubled or triple the price and offers less in performance and projection . The only niche I look at is Montale and Mancera as performance and value for money is big for me.

I love my clones and sometimes end up getting the real deal if I love the DNA and want the higher quality experience. That way you can savour the real thing for special occasions and enjoy the DNA daily or more frequently guilt free. Truth is most people can't distinguish between Roja Haute Luxe and a designer like Dior and so this hobby is largely for one's self. Thanks for the excellent coverage of all the options 👍

I bought my hubby Black Panther by Alexandria Fragrances. It's inspired by Bvlgari Tygar. It is FIRE. Now, Idk what the original smells like, but other folks that do say this one is pretty close. It smells AMAZING and has beast mode performance.

Fragrance collecting is freakin' bonkers. I've been doing it at a fairly conservative level..maybe..since around 2012 so about ten years or so, high-end niche, luxury, hard-to-find vintages, designers, and now just recently exceptional clones. If exceptional clones existed when I first started this I wouldn't have accrued nearly to the fifty grand that have on this. Yes, I have to agree that clones these days are highly exceptional with the packaging, presentations, and the quality of ingredients used, and last but not least the price$, is just unbeatable. When I discovered clones, I went with ALT & Dossier then I discovered the middle eastern brands and there’s NO COMPETITION!! The middle eastern brands tend to outperform those houses and you get more juice , a real presentation at a fraction of even Dossier and ALT prices.

I can’t speak for the others from Paris Corner but Cedrat Essence is literally the worst performing bottle I have in my entire collection. We’re not talking like a 4 or even 2 hour performer. More like 45 minutes until it’s totally gone. I doused myself before getting into bed the other night and it was almost undetectable before I fell asleep. I had to put my nose directly to skin to even faintly pick up anything.

Probably because, one it's far, and Europe and Asia are close. But I'd also guess for Americans visiting Europe is high on the list, where as for Europeans they've already been to most Countries in Europe so they are looking elsewhere for vacation spots.

About the Tres Nuit… Ok, everyone experiences fragrances differently, but when I smelled TN a couple years ago I was profoundly underwhelmed. Needed GIT but with performance and ended up satisfied with L’Aventure Knight. Has Armaf reformulated TN and made it better, or are you and I just really getting something different when we smell it?

I just got over 1000 in clones. Never buying clones again. Got stronger with you leather, givenchy gentleman edp. Pretty disappointing. Givenchy smells like Bently for men intense with a little iris in it. Rasasi hawas smells like cheap soap. Rare Carbon does not smell like ombre leather at all. Smells like a clone of layiquawam. ..got a bunch more that was recommended, all disappointing 😞

I got Killer Oud Cabana on a complete blind buy and it really nails Beach Hut Man. I think Beach Hut Man gets a bad rap because people are expecting something aquatic and not what it actually is, which is a woody scent reminiscent of an actual beach hut. Cabana is really nice though, looking forward to wearing it in Spring.
