exactly why i go to fragrance shops in malls all the time, if i smell a fragrance there that only makes me think "ah yeah i guess that's okay" then i know i will never buy it.

@So_Niche721 It's hard to guarantee that as your taste changes over time. That's why I think it is best to stick to buying smaller bottle sizes such as 50ml where possible.

Toy Boy by far is the best thing on this list, so glad so many people hate it because it gets compliments and every girl that smells is says they've never smelled something like it on a guy thus far. LOVE IT! Even Ash couldn't think of an actual bad quality, he just prefers others which is fine!

Man, I’m in the hot South too, so I’m surprised Toy Boy doesn’t get much use . It’s one of my top used during the spring and hot summer because it’s “light” due to the florals but still lasts. A nice break for me from citrus and aquatic scents.

Toy boy, I agree I live in South Texas and this is one is a unique scent. It is one of my Sunday signature scents. I use it all the way from spring to summer. I also use on Sundays Lalique Equus which reminds me of Gucci Pour Homme ii. My favorite fragrance of all time. Which is now discontinued and it is very hard or expensive to get.

I enjoy dunhill century even before reading that it is a clone of santal 33. I did buy Halloween Man X and regretted it as its blackjack accord didnt deliver or it just simply smelled cheap which shouldnt be a surprise because it costs next to nothing anyway

I picked up Halloween Man X after I saw it on the YT influencer hypetrain - instant regret also. It smells extremely cheap and synthetic, and I get zero coffee from it; more like scorched hair.

Lalique Encre Noire. I appreciate it as an olfactive creation and love the concept of the inkwell-like bottles but I rarely feel like wearing it, haven't done so for years. A very linear scent, it's just not uplifting enough for me to wear and these days I need an uplift!

Love love love Joop homme..was HUGE in the late 80s early 90s. Like a sweet cigar. Now I haven't smelled it in 30 years sooo.Toyboy is an enigma, sometimes its nice sometimes it turns and when it turns i get that dilly note and it ruins that wear for me.

I actually picked up Azzaro Sport for $20 CAD at the drug store. It's not bad, does exactly what it's supposed to do and is incredibly unlikely to offend anybody. As for a fragrance I don't really wear anymore, that would be Respect by David Beckham. When I first smelled it I thought, "This is it!" And then I smelled Aventus the day I picked up my big bottle of Respect. That was when I realized that I had a lot more things I needed to smell 😅

I have no problem at all with Joop Homme. It's one of the few fragrances I know of that won't turn into a skin scent 40 minutes after being outdoors in high heat and humidity.

I blind bought Dunhill Century because the notes sounded like Santal 33 with a bergamot opening… but agree, it’s boring at best, unpleasant at worst. The bottle is probably the coolest one in my collection. Wish I wanted to wear it. Will say, it does give off a luxury freshly laundered or ironed dress shirt vibe. Could see this being an office fragrance when dressing up and wanting something very subtle.

I have Orinal Penguin Ice Rocks,and in hot weather gotten a decent amount of compliments, Joop is ok ,never really rocked it. I have the blue JVxNJ & liked it but performance aint that great but smells ok, but haven't tried the others. Love ur content!

Owned Silver Mountain Water for a short time. Didn’t really like it. The scent was hyped quite a bit but I could never get used to the sharp sea saltiness that it exudes. Definitely not for me, and from then I was quite careful. Mostly sampling scents before making blind buys. I do still blind buy every now and then, but only darker scents. Never a bad blind buy from that spectrum yet

Dunhill Century to me smells awesome all the way, in fact super clean all the way. I wear it on its own or also with Iso-E Super, which I layer with almost anything, but with century ends up a killer professional smell. Anyway no bugspray tinge anywhere to me in Century, surprised to hear such a comment. That sort of tinge I get still from something like Z&V This is Him. Anyway we can all smell differently for sure. You like D&G Light Blue Eau Intense, which to me has something simply bad smelling, both on paper or on my skin, and from opening to drydown.

@@debusen81 Wrote a comment but now don't see it, trying again. Got the iso-e super in a store online here in Germany, the name is parfumseminar, then the dot, then 'de'. Hopefully KZbin won't block this comment because of that hinting at a url. And yes I dilute it of course. 20 ml of Iso E Super cost less than €10, and I mix that with 80 ml of pure ethanol for a solid EDP concentration. I use Krakus spiritus, bottle of half a litter I got long ago was less than €20. So anyone can really make 100ml of isoesuper EDP for less than about €15

I never touch CDNIM Limited Edition anymore. I have tried it a few times and had to scrub it off. If I feel like wearing an Aventus clone, I always reach for Pineapple Vintage Intense or Emperor EDP (both from Parfums Vintage). I also never reach for Creed Viking because I have an allergic reaction to it.

@kmw1175 Yeah, I got it Grey market, and it was a couple of years old, I think it said 2021. My initial thought is that it might have gone bad, so I went to Sephora and tried it there, same thing. I spray heavy too, 6 to 7 sprays. Unless it's a super projection monster, of course.

I just thought of this, Tom Fords Costa Azzurra Parfum was a blind buy for me, and at first, I couldn't stand it. Well, really, the opening mint note drove me crazy. It reminded me of toothpaste, and then it hit me which kind of toothpaste. . .Tom's toothpaste that hippie stuff, all my cousins use to use it, and then it hit me again. You don't suppose Tom used that note because it had his name on it ?

Versace - the dreamer ( tried hard to like it but .. no ) Bentley men intense - I really appreciate it .. but , I just don’t like it, it’s so .. ‘ serious ‘ . CK shock - euch - sold it . Nautica Voyage - all that green apple 🍏 that never goes away - NO. Lattafa Ameer al oud - cloying , overbearing , yucky sweet ( I like sweet - but … NO ) Le male - really hated this at first .. I dusted off my sample of it the other day - there was plenty left , and thought … you know what ? no. Acqua Essenziale Colonia by Salvatore Ferragamo smells like a grandma. It was a blind buy, but I checked the notes and reviews on Fragrantica and it sounded nice. For 19 dollars I thought it was a steal. I don't know if I got a bad batch, but it smells nothing like what I read about it. I picked it up at a Nordstrom Rack store sealed in the box.

Azzaro Sport, in my opinion, is an underrated gem. Is it mind blowing? No. But few affordable fresh fragrances are. If you have hundreds of fragrances, I could see this being useless. But for the average person, the fact that you can get a 100 ml bottle at pretty much any Walmart for $29.95, it's a gem. Like a fresher better Mont Blanc Legend.

Try to let it macerate. I had the same issue with Fakkar at first and in vastly improved in a few months. I just bought a bottle of Yeah! last week because the Fakkar is just an awful presentation to me lol. The new Yeah! bottle smells the same as my Fakkar did when it was new. so fingers crossed. Gave my Fakkar to a coworker who loves it

Many, if not the majority of fragance KZbinrs, try to repeat what Jeremy Fragance says. Jeremy said Profumo is the best of the best and everyone repeated it, he loves Joop and everyone made the mistake of buying it even when they hate it. It’s rare to see one who contradicts anything Jeremy says.

I find it a bit difficult to wear Ombre Leather, tbh. There are so many fragrances that are compliment monsters and I’m afraid that leather could be strong to some people. I usually prefer sweeter fragrances (when the weather is cold enough to wear Ombre Leather). But my feelings towards OL have improved over time.

What spray ratio and which one first? I'm guessing Joop first.

@@shave-a-thon3415 What i did was i used Oud Noir first, JOOP Homme EDT on top. Balanced ratio. Oud Noir will be the most prominent scent (at least in my experience). Adjust to your liking.

@@faisalfirdausiinn4708 Thanks for the information! I'm surprised that Oud Noir would be stronger than Joop or even outlast it in terms of longevity. I'm going to try them together.

@@faisalfirdausiinn4708 Just applied 4 light sprays of each. 1 to each inner elbow and 1 to each side of neck. 2017 bottle of Joop and 2020 bottle of Oud Noir. Interesting. Up close with nose pressed against arm, Oud Noir is more detectable but from a distance Joop is, but sort of tamed down a bit by the Oud Noir.

@@shave-a-thon3415 i just don't want the JOOP gone to waste (not being used) because it is literally unwearable. On the other hand, i found that replacing JOOP Homme EDT with PACO RABANNE intenso EDP will result in Spicy Oud Noir. What i am trying to say, it smelled better than Oud Noir alone, at least to my nose.
