600$ for a single use helmet?... that’s most likely why it’s not widely used
@pseudonymity0000
@pseudonymity0000 4 жыл бұрын
All helmets are all single use. They are made and designed to only take one impact and have a service life of 5 years. After that, you're playing Russian roulette with your safety. The main reason this is stupid is the fact that you're adding needless complexity to a safety device for the sake of vanity. You can get a good helmet that can't fail to actually be on your head for £25 - £40.

All of it cn be cllected here at one spot instead of many. And i am sure it costs the countries a lot to clean the water bodies. Considering this, i dnt think its a big hassle in any way to install these. Hoping to see millions of these in the tunnels around the world.

I like that in many European countries, traffic lights change from red to yellow and then to green, which is different than the US where they go straight from red to green. It's done this way in Europe because they have a high number of manual transmission vehicles, so the move from red to yellow before going to green is meant to give motorists time to shift into gear. But it also works at alerting motorists of all vehicle types that the light is changing and it's time to start driving. All too often in the US, the light changes from red to green and the person up front just sits there.

That thing on the other hand must fucking open in an accident, no matter what, because there is allways the chance you land n the head. And there is your 800$ gone. And I've fallen a lot off my bike. Sometimes the street is crap, something is laying around, or it's just winter. Never landed on my head. In the last two or three years, I would have propably spend well over 2k for this garbage. When My helmet provides the same service for 40$. Fashion? Fuck off. Look responsible in front of children, I'd say. So use a helmet and show that they ain't uncool. Plus, there are plenty of options, many look decent. And hair? Oh fuck off. From all the money you safe with a regular, even fancy helmet, you'll have more then enough on hand for a pocket sized mirror and brush. It's the perfect example of over engineering. It's pointless, stupid, damn expansive while anything it can do, a much simpler product less then a tenth of the price can provide the same.

Phones are not our biggest worry. In near future (10-15 years) we will have big headache with batteries of electric cars (EV's). Every car has at least 500KG (0.5 tone) of batteries (Li-ion) fitted in them. It is told by manufacturers it must run at least 10 Years. But everyone knows that, batteries run about 3 years, and then start to die out. Governments are very keen to push this new battery tech to masses. As they say to reduce pollution. But in reality it is environmental time bomb. From which same governments will earn by tax charging us again. Of course they passed the law, which require manufacturers to take back used batteries. Manufacturers are not dumb too, they hire other companies to collect them batteries on their behalf and "utilize" them batteries. It is obvious most of batteries secretly will end up in 3rd world landfields. People are blind and stupid.

The “human waste” bus should have toilet seats for passengers.. make them pay their way as they ride 🤣 As for solar. I used to design PV controllers and solar CAN take you off the grid and even make your power meter go BACKWARDS, but it’s NOT CHEAP. Don’t expect to save money for 10-20 years as a full home system costs roughly $20-$30 thousand dollars. You’ll be making payments for some time.

@Andrew-qu7lq
@Andrew-qu7lq 4 жыл бұрын
It really depends a lot on the variables for climate, home/roof orientation, and total power usage. For my single story home, it cost a little less than $15,000 to get a system that's producing 110% of my annual usage. I'm not paying any more than my typical average electricity use before, so other than the heat of the summer where I was adding another $30-$50 per month for A/C usage for a few months, the rest of the time it generates credit for me. The system will be paid off in 10 years, but generally the 5-7 year assumption is including inflation and estimated cost increases with power (which also depends largely on region). After this upcoming winter, I'll probably have enough banked so that even in the next summer I won't pay anything extra. If you think of the payment as your average utility usage, then the break even will just be whenever you're done with payments. Obviously, once I am not paying for it, that's when I'm obviously saving money. Regarding the variables though, I live in a good area, have a nice large, wide, completely unobstructed roof and is facing the optimal orientation.
@jaketyler7088
@jaketyler7088 4 жыл бұрын
@@Andrew-qu7lq Another consideration is the opportunity cost of the original payment. Spending $15k means you cannot invest it and potentially double your money 10 years later. Like you said, however, if you finance then you're paying extra money (interest) to save extra money later. The best way to look at solar is as a very long term investment, perhaps >20yrs.
@Andrew-qu7lq
@Andrew-qu7lq 4 жыл бұрын
@@jaketyler7088 True, it is an investment, but like I said before, the money is going to be spent regardless. It's almost like looking at it between renting an apartment and purchasing a home. Either way you're spending money. Rent vs mortgage, or utility payment versus loan payment on solar panels. The difference being that eventually, you don't have to pay for it anymore. But again this is still ignoring the comparison with increased utility payments and inflation, because 15 years from now, I'm certain that my average utility payments would be much higher than my current averaged $115/month.

The helmet cost around 300 us dollar in sweden. Once its deployed you contact your insurance company and for a small fee you get a new one. The helmet is not intended for kids or any kind of racing or mountenbiking. The target was thoes who rather took the risk then waring a helmet going to work. They are willing to pay a little bit more. Huge succses end win/win. Free choice, lower medical cost for tax payers and you can still wear a helmet if you want, or not if you are an adult and stupid... in that case... maeby there is no need to protect your head🤷🏼‍♂️

@JR R but we save money still as we don't need health insurance and on the off chance that something serious happens we don't end up with a massive bill to add insult to injury. So although we do pay tax towards it we don't have to pay the often ridiculous amount for health insurance.
