I was given Xtratuf deck boots a few father’s days back and they’ve been a HUGE benefit to me. I’m in construction, and own an inspection & consultation company so I’m regularly working in rain and mud and these boots live on my truck at all times

They’ve been so great for me! We get way more rain than snow here in Portland, super useful to throw on for quick trips out and really amazing for camping trips

@@joshfenn I spend a significant period of time on new construction sites, and it's a muddy nightmare, so these are an absolute must for me! Plus I am usually needing to switch boots when I go into the house so the easy on/off and lack of laces is critical

I have used waffle and linen towels for some years now. For travel, I highly recommend linen towels as they are thin and quick drying.
@joshfenn9 ай бұрын
Linen is so great for travel! I usually use a synthetic travel towel but I know a lot of people swear by their linen options. Love my linen hanks though for similar reasons
@errydm9 ай бұрын
@joshfenn I've tried synthetic travel towels. But I somehow didn't like the feel of it (maybe because I mostly travel in humid countries and this fabric feels kind of sticky) The plus side though is, synthetic towels pack way smaller than linen towels.
@joshfenn9 ай бұрын
Yeah the smaller packing size is why I went with the synthetic over linen but I also rarely end up needing it where I travel. I’d probably switch if I used or needed it more consistently, glad to know the linen has been solid for you!

My barber always had the iPhone 5 in a special place in his heart and talked about framing an old one because of the sentimental value it brings up for him. Surprised him with one of these and he was ecstatic, he never knew it was a thing!

That’s so great! The detail and polish of the frames are so nice, really happy to have a few that bring up so many good memories for me.

Unrelated to this topic, but I have been going through your videos trying to remember the name of a band you talked about a while back, maybe 6 months to a year ago. The name is two words I think, and you were excited their new album was about to drop. You had either a shirt or hat on in the video I think, that tipped viewers off that you were a fan. Hopefully you remember who it was - have been meaning to check them out! Thanks!

Sleep Token! I’ve been obsessed for a few years, it’s been awesome to see them gain so many new listeners this year. Their catalog is a bit overwhelming with how they cover different styles and genres, happy to recommend a starting place based on your music taste if needed.

I like the jacket you're wearing. Where can I get one?

Huckberry! Been really enjoying it, made a video a few weeks ago talking about it in more detail if you’re interested. Here’s the jacket: prf.hn/l/lQ9DJbd

Those Grid frames are amazing, I own a few of them myself. But ranging from $200 - $500 they definitely price a bunch of people out unless that have a fairly decent job.
@joshfenn9 ай бұрын
I totally agree, I understand why the cost is what it is but it would be so great if they could get the price down further.

The entire list is full of outrageous prices. I’m surprised this is the only ridiculous item you pointed out.

Hey… where did you get that lamp in the background?
@joshfenn9 ай бұрын
Found it on Etsy! Don’t think it’s available anymore unfortunately, but if you search for industrial lamps there are some similar options still around

Everything is sponsored :(
@joshfenn9 ай бұрын
Larq sponsored the video, I’ve loved their products for years in and out of my paid collaborations with them though. Creating these videos are costly and take full time hours to create, having sponsors for my videos is the only way I can dedicate the time and resources.

Great list... But I don't understand labeling it for "him." I know plenty of people besides just men (myself included) that would love most of this stuff.
@joshfenn9 ай бұрын
I totally understand what you mean and was really torn when figuring out how to title/package the video. Been really fighting the algorithm a lot lately (my views are down like 40% this year compared to last) and my audience is 95% male so I figured it would be best to tailor the title to the majority of viewers. Hopefully this doesn’t sound like a BS copout for a response, sincerely happy that you spoke up about it so I know people care and it’s not just men watching. I usually try and keep things gender neutral and inclusive around here, navigating the decisions gets a bit tough sometimes for me in a space where I don’t really fit the ‘macho’ vibe of most KZbinrs in my content space/genre. Enough rambling from me though, thanks again for reaching out with this!

@@joshfenn I get it... As someone who has worked in the digital marketing world I totally understand how these titles and keywords work. But as a woman (albeit not "feminine" woman) in the EDC world it just gets really frustrating sometimes. Especially since I often buy men's clothes... They are just often better made and more comfortable for me! I've watched MANY of your videos so I know that's not the normal approach for you necessarily. So sorry if it came out as any kind of "attack" because that was not my intention. I know channels have to gear themselves to their known audience and that EDC stuff skews male. I get it. I just wish things were more about the gear and less about gender. lol
@hollyhockNYC9 ай бұрын
(And thank you for taking the time to respond! I just never know how a comment like that might be received so I appreciate your thoughtful response!)
@joshfenn9 ай бұрын
Definitely didn’t feel like an attack at all no need to apologize. I was just happy to have someone to discuss it with because it’s something that I try to keep in mind. Felt a little weird about the titling myself, I really wanted a title along the lines of the ‘impossible to shop for’ person but couldn’t figure out the right phrasing. Keeping this in mind though for the future of the channel! Hopefully I can push an ‘edc for all’ mentality wider as the channel continues to grow.
