I am thinking of purchasing it but am unsure what is being provided. Will I receive e copies of the printed rhythms as well as the soundtracks or do I have to go to KZbin to hear the rhthyms? I want something that stands on its own and not have to bring up KZbin in order to hear what I see in print.

Great practice. If only I had this back in the late 40's in Chicago; when I was learning musical theory. It makes things simple; that appear complicated. I had not read music for 65 yrs. But it only took a few "bars" to get right back into the "groove". Wow! Thank you. And may Jesus bless you for bringing a moment of happiness reading music again.

For the ones having some difficulties with the final exercise (the quarter notes triplet), I'd recommend counting those like two eight notes triplets, and only tapping on the : **One** two **Three** One **Two** Three

Someone's using their head. It's all math. You can't count in 4's (1-e-and-a, 2 e-and-a) because 8÷3 isn't a whole number, so count each beat in 3's (tri-pl-et, tri-pl-et). 6÷3 is 2, so every other pulse gets the beat! (TRI-pl-ET, tri-PL-et).

It shows what perseverance does, I tried clapping along to this a few weeks back and didn't get very far, but now, after constantly going over it I can do each one except the last one. A very good video 👍🏻

Took back to music theory in school, and how we would practice these twice a week (not enough.) That was years ago I’m so out of practice. But this came up and I felt concerned about how I would do . Turns out I did pretty well up and had a lot fun all the way through. The last one tripped me up but inspired me to keep practicing. I will be looking for more!

I think it would be helpful if when the triplets were first introduced, they would be played separately from regular 8th or 16th notes. So the first triplet exercises would be combining half notes, quarter notes and 8th triplets. And the first quarter note triplet exercise would combine quarter notes, 8th triplets, quarter note triplets and half notes. Only after that (when one understands how to read in "triplet feel" separately from straight 8ths or 16ths) does it make sense to learn to combine the two different rhythmic feels (triplet and 16th note). Also, when introducing the quarter note triplet, it would probably make sense to start with alternating between 8th note triplets and quarter note triplets.

This is great. I’ve been playing drums for many years, have played in many bands, recorded, toured, but never learned to read. I’m playing afro cuban style percussion in a jazz band and all thirteen of the other players read music (all, except for one) teach music as well as perform. They’re very kind to me, very respectful, yet I often feel outside of their ribbing each other because their jokes are music-related. So, I’m beginning to learn, and your video is a VERY big help. Thank you so much! (Our band is called MaryLous Apartment by the way. We have a barebones website under that name (.com) but you might find it interesting if you’re into jazz.

just count 1/8th triplets in your head and accent every second note to get the 1/4 triplets. IE: 1+a 2+a 3+a 4+a like this- >.>.>.>.>.>. that gives the 1/4 triplets
