You could always try reading the Resident Evil movie books. A lot didn't make it to the big screen, but it did a good enough job. They just weren't consistent with the plot.

I really don't understand the hate for Alien III is not the best Alien movie, but far from the worst, David Fincher really showed a talent beyond his short age at the time. The atmosphere of the movie is awesome, claustrophobic, opressing, and has one of the most Iconic scenes in horror movie history, remade and parodied to saciety since then.

With Bruce Campbell hanging up his various hands for Ash, the best idea I've heard for a FvJ sequel pits the duo not only against each other, but also someone who's dealt with the supernatural before. Freddy vs. Jason vs. Charlie would see a middle aged hero from the original Fright Night films become a bada$$ who tries to stop paranormal activity from destroying the world. That's right, I'm talking about Charlie Brewster. The protagonist who we know has seen his share of action against vampires. This story would reimagine Brewster as an almost Kolchak-esque character, beating back all manor of creatures.

How about the Djinn from Wishmaster. Imagine if Jason somehow smashed the ruby and the Djinn arrives. Problem is Jason doesn't speak so he can never verbalize wishes. Then Freddy comes along wanting Round 2. So now we have Freddy trying to kill Jason, the Wishmaster trying to kill Freddy and trying to figure out a way for Jason to communicate.

Some honorable mentions: I, for one, would have liked to see a Nightmare on Elm Street sequel based on John Saxon's script that portrayed Freddy Krueger as the fall guy for killings committed by the Manson Family. In the early 2000s, I saw marketing for a film called Sinn-Jinn Smyth, which would have starred Roddy Piper and followed a late-night prisoner transfer on Halloween night, and a cemetery where the devil is said to appear every year. The filmmakers apparently shot a substantial amount of footage before running out of money and abandoning the project completely. I don't know if this one was ever a serious concept, but in the documentary that was made before the release of the 2009 Friday the 13th reboot, one of the actresses from a prior film expressed interest in doing a sequel that would have brought back all the final girls to defeat Jason once and for all. I couldn't help but wonder why they hadn't tried that instead of doing a milquetoast remake.

Although I really enjoyed the remake and thought it did about as best as it possibly could be, a return of all the final girls to take out Jason sounds like a pretty exciting film. Although the OG survivor and one who killed his mother has already been handled in the beginning of part 2 lol.

Peter Jackson's script sounded fun as well. Freddy loses all respect and fear of him and frat bros take sleeping pills to go beat him up, but he ends up getting his groove back and makes a (sneaky, underhanded) deal with a comatose patient in Springwood to become powerful again.

David Fincher’s vision of alien 3 didn’t even make it in to theater! Unfortunately. There’s no way Gibson’s script will ever be made. Too bad because it’s a great concept.

There was a movie made back in 2013 that had almost the same concept in it as the Night Skies one you mentioned it was called Dark Skies made by Dimension Films it was directed by Scott Stewart who also wrote the screenplay for it and was produced by James Blum about a family terrorised by aliens.

The writer and director of Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer were working on a sequel called Henry: Superstar of Murder that would have followed the title character finding fame after being arrested, gaining more infamy by confessing to other murders, then slowly but surely starting to outright lie to authorities who were looking to close murder investigations they couldn't solve in order to keep up his notoriety. Now granted, that is what the real life Henry Lee Lucas did, but I can kind of see why it never grew past the early stages of the script. Was the movie just going to be Henry sitting in a cell talking to people? And did H:POASK even really need a sequel? Because the one we eventually got definitely proved that it didn't.

I can actually see that concept working very well as a showcase for unreliable narration. By presenting events exactly the way the character describes them, the movie could use deliberate inconsistencies and exaggerations to cast doubt on the veracity of each claim. It would not not unlike American Psycho, which leaves the audience uncertain about what was real and what was imagined. More to the point, it would be a creative reversal of the very thing that made 'Henry' so noteworthy in the first place: it's realism.

Plus, they could have played off how the first movie established Henry's unreliable memory with his inconsistent matricide stories (which I also think might have been the inspiration for the Joker's changing stories about his facial scars in The Dark Knight... not that the internet needs another fan theory about that subject lol).

Michael Myers vs Pinhead would make zero sense, A demon/Angel vs man would be stupid. Pinhead vs Freddy in hell would work. Michael vs Jason would work. Michael vs Pinhead is beyond stupid. It's a blessing to all it was never made. You don't need a sequel for First Encounters, come on. Resident Evil will always fail at the box office due to very, very terrible CGI and scripts. I am Legend was awful. CGI was laughably bad even for that time. Just cringe.
