Thank you ! I have naturally high porosity hair. No one makes tips about it because they assume all high porosity hair is just damaged.

There’s a pretty successful KZbinr claiming that all high porosity hair is just damaged hair. 😅 that’s a crazy claim. Everything would be easier tho if it was true.

Finally!! Thank you so much, I’ve been in search of a channel for High Porosity hair. I was starting to wonder if I was the only one with this issue of high porosity. You’re right it is harder to maintain and to achieve your length goals because it seems to break easy. I’ll also say that when my hair was straight before going natural, I didn’t seem to deal with it like this.

I love that you found my channel. High porosity hair is definitely more high maintenance. Most channels about long hair are by creators with low porosity hair. There’s a reason their methods never worked for me! thank you for supporting ❤️

Finally a channel about high porosity hair! I just would like to add another more challenge: that is high porosity hair which are also very thin and very few, also because of the age. This is the worst scenario I can figure out because you’ve to consider that very strong moisturising products are not good for thin hair. So you have to find good light products, but not so light that in the end they don't work because they are meant for low porosity hair! So this is my current situation. I've tried several bond repair treatment products, from Olaplex to K18 etc. I find them so strong that they seem not good for my thin hair. Or maybe, despite the number of video and instructions I have seen and read, I haven't still learned how to use them. So, could you please make a video about how you use Olaplex 3? The entire process, I mean: including also the shampoo phase and the conditioner. Thank you so much in advance!

Yes. This is a good point. A video on how to correctly use No 3 is on order but: I think I have product recommendations for fine high porosity hair that I will share first. You are right when you say that fine high porosity hair is an even bigger challenge. While my hair isn’t fine, it can’t handle heavy products either, so I have some products that will likely work for you as well. Edit: No 3 may also generally be too strong for your hair. There are other options by olaplex that could work better, which I will talk about.

@@HighPorosityCentral thank you! You are really the right person for understanding the issue! Everything you are willing to share will be very welcomed! I think we are a niche, not a small niche, actually, which is not properly targeted since we are always very in need of hydration, but the right hydration. When the cosmetic industry will understand that we exist and we are in desperate need of the right, specific solutions? I feel as if we are bound to do the whole work of selecting the right products through a long and costly process of trial and error. So sharing the results it’s the only method to be of great help to others hoping they are not going to do the same errors we did at first.

Hi guys! Here are some of the video topics I will be posting about: 1) The best products for highpor hair 2) Oils and highpor hair 3) The best hair tools 4) My hair care routine 5) An in-depth review of Olaplex: how it works, which products don’t work etc.

these tips were very helpful, as I am on this same journey. I just found out that I have high porosity hair. Smh, I had no idea why my hair was just not growing, and continuously breaking. I am natural, and have been for 3 years, and now I am completely, eliminating heat from my hair. Giving myself a goal, and disciplining myself and my hair so that it can continue to grow healthy, and long. I had the same issues when it came to getting rid of split ends and damaged hair. I am ready to apply all of these tips now. Your hair is beautiful just as you are by the way! New subscriber here! You are an inspiration, and I feel like I have more hope now! Thank you for sharing these tips and this video with us! 💖

OMG...you just said everything I've experienced. Though my hair is a little above my shoulder....when I would wear a bun site enough my middle would be shorter. Or my hair was frizzy or it would get a little pass my shoulder and I would cut it. So I went natural the middle grew back in....mind you I always keep a lighter brown going. Well I've realized though I've been relaxer a year now I can't do it. So I'm 13 weeks transition and I realized my hair needs it's butters and oils. I was a roller natural and relaxed with a bend. Yes I get it trimmed.. Thank you for additional info I did not think about. Ohhh I once had a hairdresser that had to continue to tell stop using high heat on my hair..I learned how to take care of my hair myself through my aunt that had her salon 40 years . I would just weekly get it done as treats...those treats were killing my hair. My hair now has bounced back and retaining nicely now that I daily oil the ends and I have to weekly shampoo..I use the line Phyto that does me pretty good.

I feel you! The amount of damage buns did to my hair is INSANE! I remember my hairstylist cut my hair from boob length to above my shoulder, it was so bad. Of course, heat doesn’t help but I find it especially bad for high porosity hair. It’s virtual impossible to fend off lasting damage. The only way is abstinence lol

@@HighPorosityCentral lol..I do a roller set mind you my hair is way way shorter than yours. And that straightens my hair at the roots completely.

Thank you so much for this channel! I have natural, fine 4c hair that is high porosity. After years and years of searching, I think I may have finally found a routine that works for my hair. But going through all the products that were supposed to be for high porosity hair, and weren’t was frustrating.

I just broke off my crown area🤦🏾‍♀️I'm thinking I need more moisture. I'm high porosity and I'm a medium maintenance person. I'll do what I have to, but when it comes to manipulation I need quick easy protective styling. I have to revamp what I'm doing for my hair. I purchased shampoo and conditioner that were made for my hair. I'm going to see if it helps. I can't wear my hair down it tangles too easily. So far my sweet spot are flat twist and regular twists. Wash and Go are a big no because I have dense hair and it takes 2.5 days for it to try. My scalp was growing mold, so I can't do that.

Thank you for this explanation. I just did a big chop where i shaved off all of my hair because it wasn’t growing. I wanna say that I do have high porosity hair because i over use products that have different kinds of ingredients that I use on my hair, as well as washing it with hot water and using different types of shampoos/ conditioner. As well as blowdrying and combing it everyday. I believe that is what caused me to have high hair porosity because I’m an impatient person and I don’t know what my hair likes. I want to be able to use natural products. Or would it be best to not be any products on my hair? Right now my hair is shaved so should I wait until it starts to grow out?

🎉When you said your hair was damaged from wearing it in a bun too often, l'm curious to know what the damage was? You said it didn't have split ends, was it single strand knots? Thanks
@HighPorosityCentral
@HighPorosityCentral 10 ай бұрын
It was a mixture of single strand knots and the strangest “wear”. It looked almost like it had been roughed up around the cuticle. My hairstylist didn’t recognize the damage but told me that it looked as if my strands had been scraped, which makes sense. After all I was constantly rolling my hair up and stretching it along a hair tie. Instead of freely flowing, the strands were constantly rubbing against each other.

I have 4 type hair, and i just went back to a relaxer in Sept after 11 years of being natural. I too hate heat, i devided to very rarely do silk heat press because the blow drying and flat iron is too much direct heat.. i like flexi rod sets and the style last much longer

It was the same for me in 2019. I wanted a change, I was sick of crying in the shower lmao and detangling for hours. Straight hair is infinitely easier to handle and I don’t regret it.

Thank you 😊 and indeed, hormones play a huge role in healthy hair! Are you receiving treatment for both menopause and Graves? I know it’s a long path because hormones are fickle and notoriously hard to get under control once they’re no longer balanced.

@@HighPorosityCentral I am in remission for Graves disease. My hair stopped growing, so I cut it off and started over. I started taking vitamins and eating better and it grew back slowly but the texture has changed and I can't get it to grow past the point that it is right now. It's very frustrating.

@@emilyfarris3510understood and glad to hear you’re recovering. If it doesn’t grow past a point then it’s a matter of breakage. I used to have the exact issue. I will make a video in the future talking about how to avoid breakage and retain length.
