New subscriber. I am in central Florida too. Your food forest is beautiful. It’s good to see what other Floridian gardeners are doing in their backyard. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks from Melbourne! My tiny townhouse backyard is about to become an HOA nightmare and im excited

Hi! I noticed that your bananas still had the flower at the bottom. Just about every video I see that's from the tropics, they cut off the flower stalk once it stops making more bananas (say 6 inches of no new fruits). Makes sense as the plant now put all its efforts into the fruit instead of a flower. Well, unless you just don't care or like seeing them which are 100% valid reasons. Greeting from Puerto Rico!

Oh my goodness as I'm watching this video, 11 minutes into it, it's windy and started pouring, I'm in Central Florida and I really want to grow some produce and I have the space but the soil is more sand than anything else so I truly appreciate this and other of your videos that I will be watching. Thank you!

I gave the same problem with my banana plants in my garden . I’ll definitely plant them in a location that the will be protected from the wind in my new home.

I have a collection of fruit trees growing in pots. The most useful of these is my limequat tree. Limequat is a hybrid of keylime and kumquat, and produces golf ball sized fruits that look like little lemons, taste like key limes, and can be eaten whole like a kumquat. I also have several varieties of jabotacaba growing in pots as well as pitangatuba. I use terracotta pots.

This is exactly what i needed as I don’t have any bare yard and still want to grow something in containers in Miami. Thank you. But didn’t quite understand what you mean by” get two blueberries varieties that flower at the same time. “ why?

I planted my 1st banana tree near the fence so it protect it from the wind but this year I had to keep checking for the flower stock so it wouldn’t go to my neighbors. Luckily it behaved and turned out to my side of the fence 😂❤🎉😊 bananas in 4-6 weeks I think 🧐 😂

What grow medium would you use for growing blueberries in a pot? I've heard that peat moss alone would be successful.

Where do you get the larger pots (20+ gallons) for small trees that don't cost a ridiculous amount of money?
@poorwotan8 күн бұрын
I live in Puerto Rico and 20 gallon containers are super expensive because they are a big item to ship (air or sea). So I went for grow bags and they work great!!!

How much watering does all this require? I am trying to get away from being a slave to my garden hose
@davidbooher55595 ай бұрын
In Florida, not a lot of hand watering or sprinkler/drip systems. I live in the State north of Florida ( Georgia) and I was told nobody there waters their lawn. So far, it seem pretty true. I came from Nevada ( Reno and Vegas resident) and your grass will be dead if it’s not watered at least every other day. And that’s all you’re allowed to do.
