I found the quiet place! When I was there in 2005. I didn't get in though, but I saw a sunflower growing out of the wall. It was cool. Thanks for the tour, I'll try to find these in July.

The water tower is owned by Yorkshire Water and is used as little more than a storage facility. The area used for storage was built for that purpose ever since its opening day in 1957. I visited the Borthwick Institute for Archives yesterday, and after seeing photographs of the building's interior, I can confirm that there's nowhere else within the building that would provide suitable set-up for a base of operations.
