Making lentils while watching this video and to boost the protein content I like to use bone broth instead of water. For dinner, I'll roast spaghetti squash, scoop out the "noodles" and add sliced chicken meatballs (Chef Hak's from Costco), and top with some lentils and Rao's pasta sauce and parmesean cheese. The lentils are also a great side with eggs and cottage cheese in the am. 😋

I learned that my digestive system fared poorly with processed soy and processed whey. Am fine with edamame, kefir, yogurt, and cottage cheese. Am glad to see vids like this, and to see hemp seeds getting a boost. Hemp and pumkpin seeds (pepitas) are very well tolerated by me and many people. I rotate thru adding several types of nuts, seeds, and legumes, as well as rice, pea, chaco, and other powdered proteins. The powder? Again, no soy or dairy sources. Also, with powders I add half or get to 10g (not 20) bc that is all my taste buds want to deal with. Thanks again for your ideas.

Here in Europe Skyr yoghurt is one of my new favs. Higher protein than Greek yoghurt.
@kxs726726 күн бұрын
I've found the Greek yoghurt here in Germany seems to be lower protein than what we get in the UK - approximately 3% compared with 10%. Greek yoghurt in the UK also often has a thicker consistency. Thedifference really surprised me! That's why I've been trying skyr as well - it's closer to that 10% mark.

These are great! One of my quick/busy weekend go to meals is bean pasta with pesto and some roasted veg. I'm less fond of chickpea pasta, as the brands I've tried tend to fall apart more easily than lentil or edamame pastas (not quite al dente, so not overcooked). Depending on the protein quantity of the pasta, I may also add some seafood or chicken (the Explore Cuisine edamame 'spaghetti' is higher in protein). I hate the texture of tofu (mushy) but had luck with a recipe that low oven dried it (my lowest oven temp is 170F) after making 1/2-1" cubes, marinate in whatever you choose, then air fry after draining any liquid, adding a little cornstarch (or other coating of choice), and a touch of oil. I assume this could also work baked or skillet cooked without the oil quantity of standard pan cooking? Regarding food monotony, herbs and spices are your friend! Be careful with spice mixes since some can be high in sodium. I could eat the same protein for days as long as the flavors vary. I guess this is easy for me to say since I enjoy cooking, which not everyone does. I often seek out vegetarian bean recipes and add tilapia for protein. It's mild, I can season with dry spices used in the dish, and it falls apart nicely in soups/stews.

I'm always looking for more protein options as I am allergic to eggs, dairy, salmon, soy, all bean-shaped beans, and a great many other things. I get tired of meat-based protein options, and don't want to create more allergies by overusing any of my protein options. The ones I use frequently that you didn't mention are chickpeas, peas, and lentils of all kinds. I use chickpea flour as an egg substitute (6 parts chickpea flour, 6 parts water, 1 part optional oil) for baked goods, frittatas, and omelets. I cook any of them up and add them to salads. I use them to make soups and sandwich spreads.

Plus, the point of this is to help clients who are eating specific foods and want to make changes but also want to enjoy specific dishes. Meeting ourselves where we are at is key. It's just that I saw prices of 15$ on your video, but could not see the weight of each pack. It's that Beef Jerky is considered expensive here. Just comparing. I am looking at getting my own dehydrator to make my own. I do a lot of alpine climbing and lightweight food that is rehydratable is better than heavy bags or cans.
