Texas lawyer Tony Buzbee filed new lawsuits on behalf of five anonymous clients this week. The alleged victims accuse Sean “Diddy” Combs of sexually assaulting them in separate incidents dating back to 2001. The new allegations come just before Combs’ team is expected to advocate for bail for the disgraced rapper a third time. Law&Crime’s Jesse Weber has the details.

Defense attorneys are allowed to petition the court for bail for all kinds of different reasons. From what I’ve read, there’s no limit. It’s all a part of legal strategies, tie up the courts time, get more time to build a defense, defense attorneys rack up more billable hours, people go missing, etc. etc. Observing what’s happened so far it’s unlikely he’ll get bail. Maybe, in worst case scenario, he could possibly get a temporary release, for a death in the family.

I'm not a US citizen, but usually in Western democracies a defendant has the right to appeal against a judge's ruling. The case (for bail in this case) then moves further up to a higher court until the highest court makes a decision. As far as I know this third bail hearing is the highest court. So if this gets rejected, he has to accept it.
