If these are saddlebreds, I owned one 35 yrs ago. Beautiful classy horses. I never showed, or cared about the gaits, just loved the beauty ❤❤❤❤

Just subbed. Beautiful farm. I dont know the story yet on these two but she will fill out nicely. Some mothers give all the nutrients to the baby in utero and some do it when lactating. Weight loss is normal but with your care both will thrive. Im sure.

She was shipped to PA from Ky for an auction. Only to be bought by someone in KY. Mare is 21 and foal is 5 weeks old. Lots of traveling for these two in a short time. The both have a good new home once quarantine is over.

No. We aren’t sure what is wrong yet. But she is getting better only after a few days.

BIG MISTAKE to put them in a field right away; they need to be under cover and under observation for at least a week.
@kentuckydreamfarm3 ай бұрын
They had shelter and in a very small turn out field. I assure you they were checked on constantly through out every day while here. They have since moved onto their forever home. We were only a two week stop for them to rest and be evaluated by a vet. Both are doing well, thank you for your concern.

The field isn't large. Easy to watch them and good shelter. The vet is coming to check the mare. In the meantime, she's got some good grass to eat. With a little freedom, she'll feel better emotionally. Horse are my world 24/7. Since 5yrs old.

I am not a rescue. I am a foster for the American saddlebred legacy foundation. They rescue and repurpose saddlebred horses.

I’m 31 seconds in and I’m appalled at the old man in the trailer. What does he think he is doing? He has absolutely no feel for horses or any good horsemanship. He should be ashamed of himself. I will keep watching but might have to give this video a thumbs down and quit. I hope to see some improvement. I will come back and add my final feelings if I make it to the end. Yuck. Okay at 2:38 I am still appalled at the lack of understanding these people seem to have about horses. That mare is in very rough shape. What a shame. You seem to care but your instincts and actions around horses is wrong. It leaves an awkward feeling about the future of this poor mare and her unfortunate foal. I sincerely hope at this time you have a better understanding of horses and can give them what they need. If you are going to be in charge of them, keep them under your authority then you need to give them some grace. Please learn more and try harder to meet them halfway.

Thank you for your comments. The mare and foal were bought at an auction in PA and traveled to KY , a 10 hour trailer ride in a bad storm. The gentleman was concerned we didn’t have adequate shelter for them for turn out. But once he realized we did it was ok. Yes the 21 year old mare is in bad shape and was coming to my care for rest and medical evaluation. They have both now been adopted by someone that will give them a good home with great medical care and training for the foal. Again they were bought at auction and trying to give them the best life going forward.

Just so you know , I believe the gentleman in the trailer did a fine job. I'm not sure what he did that was so deplorable but he seemed very knowledgeable and aware of the mare and foal. This is only my opinion but I have owned horses for 42 years and have rehabilitated multiple emaciated horses. Thank you for stepping up to be apart of the solution and you are very understanding and polite with all of the comments even the negative Nellie's 😊😊😊

@@cindya.esquivel6876 he had an aggravated and loud voice. He was jerky and fumbling. He had no clear plan from the start and he was unable to convey any clear plan to the mare and foal. He was high, excited energy. The horses deserved a clear and calm, low as possible impact upon arriving from their previous hell. The man that unloaded them from the trailer gave hysterical vibes at times which was not needed.
