I've done all of this last year and none of it worked, but the only thing I would add is to have a 2nd switch and a 2nd island. It will help you so much and you don't have to worry about relying on other people to help you. I say this because I'm an introvert and I had a bad experience last year with people when playing Animal Crossing.

absolutely make a side profile or two for a themed house, storage, and getting extra special items (or ones from rotating npcs like models from flick and buying more art from redd). when the 1x2 table dupe was around (as i dont bother with turnips) i used it to get three extra houses (9 mil) to greatly increase the longevity of this game and get to the fun of decorating faster

Make multiple characters. That's always what I do in AC games and I'm never bored thanks to that (even better with NH since I can make them interact with each other). I have three characters personally: One is all about steampunk and his house have a late 19th century aesthetic and red as a dominant color, he's the one in charge of the fishes in the museum. The second is about traditional theme (for where I live, so not japanese traditional theme) and I imagine her living in the 20's (dominant color blue), she's the one in charge of bug catching for the museum. And my third character is a more modern character that have a 50's looking house (with modern furniture here and there) with a black dominant color, in charge of the fossils and the art. I like to imagine these three being triplets. And I often play with all three at the same time (I have a pro controller so pro controller plus left joycon plus right joycon = perfect, they even fit their color scheme). Anyway, that's how I still manage to have fun with this game. Without rebooting my island or changing the villagers (I am NOT letting Melba go, forget about it, Game!).

For the first one if you don't want to restart your island but you want to start fresh again without losing your current island you could make another Nintendo account. Nintendo allows you to make up to 8 accounts so there's more adventures ahead :D
