If you want your pools to be warn all the time, you can add the geothermal lot trait to the gym lot. It automatically heats any pool on the lot and gives a mood buff too when the sims use the poll. I tend to do this a lot when in a colder environment so the sims don't freeze in the pool water but it would work from a recovery pool too.

Since the Spa Day refresh, I've been making all of my gyms with at least a spa room. I mostly make blended gyms and spas. I think that a club exclusive room at one of those places could be perfect! You always have such good ideas, Pete.

The gym in Windenberg is perfect for making a gym/spa hybrid. Since it has a basement with pool, I made that the spa area with extra rooms and a sauna.

Sometimes in my gyms I add playgrounds or dance studios so toddlers and children can develop movement/motor skills and make it a more family-friendly environment

Might as well also save for the Energized club vibe perk if you're making a gym club, or Focused if you want them to do spa activities as well. Fully maxing a club vibe will take 600 club points but it'll be well worth it if used properly.

I am envisioning amazing Crystal cult ideas and a spa/gym that is using Crystals and the helmet religiously. some of my Gym improvements - 1) I actually did make a High School Gym with a Locker room and weight room and coach office and such and added a concession stand area with popcorn, ice cream, candy and drinks 2) I build Gyms with in-gym daycare services that have an area for children and toddlers to play and fill their needs while mommy keeps that trophy wife waist trim. 3) I also build Gyms with Juice Bars (eco Living market Place or maker space) 4) I have also done Secret Fight Club Gyms that are under a Bar or an Eco Lot Community Lot set as a Landfill so it has junk yard vibes where a brawling club gets together to...well we don't talk about it 5) I've done Gyms at the Snowy Escape world so their can be outdoor enthusiats activities attached to memberships. 6) I've made swim team Clubs that use pools for "team Training" using the Club System 7) I also have done the full strip mall concept on the promenade from get ot work with a small gym, coffee shop, thrift store, and now a totally sus psychic shop. 8) your other idea from spas also works with adding a suppplements counter and vending machines plus yoga mats - tying into the buisness nower idea I have had a business where the owner sold herbal remedies potions drinks and healthy food and work out clothes on the First Floor with a full gym on the second floor so for sims outside the household it served as a wellness destination. 9) I have had several of my sims rooming together for University and I added a Gym to the commons for their campus and take them all to do TV workout sessions together ( sad you can make a group and workout together but as long as they are in the same household you can use your imagination) Not working out at home is a great way to really meet the townies and I have had more then one heiress fall in love with their Gym Trainer and elope rather then marrying someone from "their circle"

I always like creating a small room with a wall tv and have the sims watch the workout dance channel to pretend like they are in a Zumba class

i always add pool to my gyms but depending on the household i play sometimes choose to add yoga mat room instead. but i never consider basketball training. thanks for ideas ^^

I really appreciate the time you take to make these tips/tricks videos. I've done most of everything you noted here to improve the sims gym experience. Since I'm not much of a builder I've expanded the spa day and other expansion pack pieces into a large basement where I even included a couple of bowling lanes I love to take a sim to the gym to get the first requirement of the body builder aspiration and keep them there through the 8 and 10 hours exercise that a parts of the aspiration. You can usually tick off the jogging portion by doing that between exercise hours. Thanks again.

Something I used to do was add a large tv in a designated area or room and workout with the TV as if it was a virtual Zuma class.

This is great! I especially love the TVs near the threatmills and the overlook to the bowling alley gives the room a very nice touch. But how can you not love gyms though, mr Petey? That's the place where your hot dream guys get even hotter. ;) My personally touch on this is an easy one: hang up a clock in the heavy weight section. At the gym people like to clock themselves with the raps and sets for their TOTs. Time Under Tension is an important part of any good workout. I like to combine my gyms with pools, bowling alleys, baseball courts, saunas and rock climbing. You can train three skills that way.

Ahahaha this is true it is the place where the hot dream guys get hotter. I don't mind gym in moderation but when I go I always just end up dancing to the music in my headphones haha. I do love the idea of a clock in the weights section! It's an easy addition that really adds to the realism. And that's smart! Good ways to make multi-purpose lots :)!

The ideas are mostly helpful, but the one with the cafe doesn't really work. I tried it once, and no barista showed up to operate the coffee bar. I suppose you could make the lot a coffee shop, but then sims won't be as motivated to work out

Limi! This is a good point. You can click on the coffee machine and hire a barista, but it does cost 100 simoleons, so it just depends how much in total you're willing to pay for the coffee. But very good call I should have mentioned that in the video. Sorry about that and thank you for the comment!
