At the time, Pope Clement the 5th was basically under the French King's control since the Pope resided in France at the time. Circumstantial records/reports/history indicates that the surviving Knights Templar may be the founding bankers for Switzerland, who were mainly unsophisticated farmers and other rural types, and yet the Swiss bankers arose suddenly with sophisticated monetary systems and banking methods far in excess of what the local Swiss were capable of.
@kriegfaust
@kriegfaust Жыл бұрын
I heard something similar to this from a local historian. He said..."The region we know as Switzerland today is 2 months ride by horse from Jerusalem so 2 months after the crusades ended some of the knights set up an outpost there where they would send any treasures for safe storage. As they became more of a global outfit and garnered more gold and money more often than not it went to Switzerland and when the order was disbanded most of them fled there and remained Swiss to this day". Don't know how true it all is either way but I have been to Switzerland and I can say its a beautiful place and definitely feels different to anywhere else I've visited. Things work, run on time, its clean, the people seem friendly and mostly are multi lingual, loads to do whatever your interests are. Really worth a visit if you can afford it!.

I wouldn’t find it hard to believe about Templars fleeing to Scotland and Bruce giving them land and title for their help. The French (where the templars came from), were very big allies of Scotland at that time because of their common enemy in England and the timelines match up. It might not be true.. but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was.

I heard that the hashassins actually used drugs here and there, but that the autorities were the ones who spread the fact they were drug addicts to defame them (as it was also against religion in the region). The hashassins embraced the junkie reputation, and the masses thought they were nothing but low-life people who would shank you for their next fix. The bad rep was embraced so people would lower their guards when they heard the hashassins were in the region. In reality, they were taking performance enhancing drugs, making them some of the most effective assassins back then. Even today, it’s the common conception that they where trained murderers on drugs, but these dudes actually toppled cities. Their network was organized and it lasted for years until they messed with the wrong dude who then vouched to wipe them.

There were so many different orders of knights, what makes you say MOST went to Portugal? Lol …this is not based in fact although I’m sure several scattered throughout Europe wherever they were accepted, just so long as they were far from the Pope. The Pope had a strong hold in Portugal and Spain, why would they flee there?
@Weed1990
@Weed1990 Жыл бұрын
@@arcanoflowz Well because after the Templars were abolished on 22 March 1312 by the papal bull, King Denis refused to pursue and persecute the former knights instead he accepted the fugitives and renamed the order to Order of Christ. And evidence of their presence is all over Portugal. Im not saying they all fled to Portugal but a lot of them did.

You made it sound as if all of the fleeing Knights all went to Scotland. They didn’t. Many Knights Templar became members of other groups such as the Teutonic Knights and the Knights Hospitalier. And, the brutal Friday the 13th purge happened only in France while other Knights Templar located elsewhere in Europe stayed in place sought to clear their name. And, since they acted as a banking system throughout Europe, they vast wealth that they had on hand just disappeared. Many of their castles remain today and are tourist attractions.

They are searching and digging more there, yes. They have "claimed" to have findings from the 1100's, but they won't allow experts (who aren't directly affiliated with the island owners) date anything nor were the digs conducted properly to preserve archeology data. On top of that there has been so much actively digging up the island over the centuries its difficult to properly determine anything conclusive at this point, any truth is lost now due to the abundance modern contamination of improper treasure digging. The most likely and plausible explanation for the island is that the under-sea tunnels are natural forming (as they are all over Nova Scotia in places anyways) as well the island seems to have been used as a haven for producing 'pitch' for ship building. There is a whole book, by an actual historian and archeologist, who has dove into Oak Island's more likely, and less thrilling, past.

Their downfall came by loaning money to King Phillip of France and became to powerful for the likes of the Pope. So the two of them struck a deal to rid each other of the Knights Templar and a call for a gathering on a Friday the 13th was the trap that lead to their arrest and execution of not only the Templar leaders, but the knights as well. Unfortunately for the King and Pope, the Templar fleet escaped with a bulk of the treasury to parts unknown....but that is another story.

0:09 i find it baffling that no one has adressed the anachronism of the armor in used in this drawing. It seems as if people living in the 1400s had no idea that mail was the most common type of knightly armor used at the battle of Cresson and not full plate as depicted.

People of this world just can't seem to comprehend that we are all slaves because we created it this way, humanity as a whole collective got to where we are together and we are the only ones who can change it. The ones in "power" have power because we give it to them free willingly. The world is shlt because we made it shlt.
