Really fun video. On a relative note, the last experiment should be labeled "dangerous, do not try this at home". It is based on the chemical reaction of a sodium hydroxide water solution with aluminium, that produces hydrogen. 2 Al + 2 NaOH + 2 H2O → 2 NaAlO2 + 3 H2 However, (as seen in the video) hydrogen is highly flammable and reckless experimentation can lead to serious eye damage, burns or involuntary arson. Not to mention the risks of someone inhaling hydrogen gas that may lead to asphyxiation. Moreover, the sodium hydroxide is a highly corrosive, poisonous compound that can, in contact (with the eyes or skin) or by digestion, cause serious health problems and must be tried with the according care. During the experiment, the person conducting it is not wearing safety goggles. Finally the use of fire inside a forest (?) and the throw of a burning stick on a woodland is, by it's own, a hazardous action (cause of fire). I know that someone might call this analysis exaggerated but this is a highly popular video, balloons are popular to kids and people that don't have the knowledge needed to keep themselves safe (especially kids) might get hurt. To sum up, my suggestion to the producers of the video is to add the label "dangerous, do not try this at home" to the last experiment and from now on to keep the safety rules, so that they set the right example. For those who wonder how the first one is possible I think that it can be easily explained by the ideal gas law (equation of state of ideal gas): PV=nRT P for the pressure V for the volume n for the amount of substance of gas R is the ideal gas constant T is for temperature if small balloon is no1 and big balloon no2 then: P1=(RT) x n1 x 1/V1 P2=(RT) x n2 x 1/V2 V1 1/V1>1/V2 n1=n2 (approximately) because the difference in volume doesn't justify change in mass/ gas amount enough to tilt the scales of the experiment so (RTn1) x 1/V2 < (RTn2) x 1/V1 --> P2 the smaller balloon gets smaller and the larger gets larger I expect that if the experiment is repeated with a balloon of a much bigger diameter the result might go the other way round, but I am not sure. I know that I made the admission that every gas should be treated as ideal but this is as far as my maths/ physics get me. If I am wrong I apologize.

The smaller curvature of the smaller balloon means that it actually has higher pressure (even though it has less volume). That is why it is so difficult to start blowing up a balloon, but it then gets easier.
