@tippy2k2
@tippy2k2 21 күн бұрын
Yeah, quite a few of these don't even feel like the "terrible villain" was the main villain. Like...District 9, Frozen, and Logan alone, their main villain was the circumstances they were in. A "main bad" might have been the face of it but the main bad guy for D9 and Logan were the MCs being hunted down by an organization as they tried to escape and get free.

Zorg wasn’t the main villain of the movie. He was a coward who only made moves if he had something up his sleeve and wanted to use the main villain’s destruction to profit. And I love that they never met because the man employed billions so the likelihood that he would run into an employee from one of his bottom companies and recognize him is ludicrous. Like asking Bezos to run down a third world factory employee.😂

Somehow, the Screenslaver entry omits a crucial and unsubtle detail: her brother is the one pushing a PR campaign to make supers legal and restore the public's trust in them. It wasn't her idea, it was her brother's. Her whole motivation is to undermine her brother's actions so that he'll fail. If she had "done nothing", then superheroes would have just been made legal that much quicker.

Hans doesn't have a single memorable line? Are you for real?
@heahterranier6926
@heahterranier6926 21 күн бұрын
Hans wasn’t the villain until they rewrote him into the role with two extra scenes- Elsa was the antagonist but her song became a phenomenon, so they didn’t want her being the “villain”, even though she remained self-involved and irresponsible. Hans makes a poor villain because everything he did throughout the movie was as a “good guy” love interest and made “villainous” by some hammy throwaway lines in one scene.

You couldn't be more wrong about Hans being a terrible villain. He is exactly the villain that the movie needed. First off, the way he manipulates Anna and those around him *beautifully.* Secondly, while he's the villain, he's the actual antagonist of the movie. The movie is about that inner conflict between Elsa and herself and Anna. Anything more from Hans would have undercut what the movie is actually about.

Frozen- Emotional woman loses her crap and kills hundreds by insta-freezing her kingdom in a fit. Decides she's just going to do whatever she wants from now on, and her loving sister goes to try calming her down, almost dying in the process of TRYING TO SAVE THE KINGDOM from Elsa's magical spell. Then the evil one's uncontrolled anger freezes her sister's heart and she almost kills everyone with a mean snow monster. There's a tiff with the sister's ex and the evil one "redeems" herself by besting the ex , proving she really loves her sister, who she has nearly killed in a domestic squable. All is forgiven by the sister who was lashed in anger and her whole kingdom who lives in fear of another outburst. Women, do whatever you want, no accountability, so long as there's a man nearby to blame everything on. Big bad Hans didn't harm the citizens of the kingdom he was just running a devious coup. Anna actually harmed everyone and gets a free pass. Teaches girls to be "compassionate" and "brave", and sacrifice for your siblings, even if they got mad and tried to kill you, but only if they take out the mean man. Hans was no villain he's not even relevant, except as a foil to "redeem" the real villain and shoulder the blame.

Santino Fontana isn't to blame for Hans being a bad villain, the writers are. He wasn't intended to be the villain, Elsa was. Hans was fully intended to be a generic love interest for Anna, but they shoehorned in a Hans heel-turn at the 11th hour of production because "Let it Go" was too much of an upbeat banger for a villain song. Santino did the best with the crap he was given. Frozen is a badly written movie with songs that are good enough to elevate it beyond the writing, while Frozen II is a well-written movie with songs bland enough to drag it down below the writing

A little strange, but Ronan from Guardians of the Galaxy, John Heard in White Chicks, and Van Pelt and Jurgen the Brutal from the recent Jumanji movies could've been on here because Ronan isn't memorable or nearly as good as the other villains in the trilogy, I forgot John Heard's name in that movie, and the other two had good backstories but weren't nearly as memorable as the main cast.

Even if Safin is considered a terrible villain, his actions are still what led to the deaths of Bond and some of his greatest supporting characters. And I honestly think that No Time to Die is the perfect way to end the James Bond series as a whole. As for Mission Impossible, I think now that it should have ended with the third entry because afterwards, Ethan annoyingly makes the same mistake of trusting characters that don't deserve it. And one additional detail about Logan, if the aforementioned antagonists are agreed to be terrible, perhaps they should have included Nathaniel Essex (Mr. Sinister) as the overarching antagonist (per previous movies' post credits scenes).

The 12A rating in the UK wasn't used until 2001, a full 18 years after Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was released, which replaced the 12 rating that preceded it, but that was introduced in 1989. In short there seems to be no basis in reality for this rating to be related to Temple of Doom. There is however a direct connection to the US equivalent of PG13 which was introduced in 1984.

Most of the characters on this list range from fine to acceptable, with two of them (Zorg and Gabriel) not even being the villain of the movie. The two villains who are actually terrible belong to Into Darkness and whatever the name of the last Bond movie was, two films that aren't even good, let alone "incredible". We even have Hans one of the few highlight of a movie that was as successful as it was generic (not to mention it copied so much from Frozen that cast Idina Menzel as the Elphaba of the movie). And considering that "Oh, Hannah" spawned several memes overnight, saying that he didn't have memorable phrases is just factually false.
