Ivey was involved in the two best poker hands (with reads) that I've ever seen: 1) I saw him fold on the river, holding Jacks full of 10's, to an opponent betting, while holding Kings full of 10's (they both flopped sets). I don't think that I could ever make that laydown. 2) I watched him bluff Gus Hanson on the river with 9 high, while Gus was holding King high, seriously considering making a hero call against him. Gus folds, no cards are shown, and says to Ivey "trying to buy the pot with a 9 again?", to which Ivey responds "Were you seriously thinking about calling with a King high?" 😮😮😮 Next-level shit, those guys.

The K7 hand vs Benyamine’s flush and Antonius K was a matter of deducing what they had and then pulling the trigger. It’s a flush and a K in his opponents hands unless someone flopped 2’s full. After the turn action Ivey knew he needed help and when the 4th diamond came, inspiration struck. He realized how tough it would be for Benyamine to call without the A or FH so he bet, whereas now it looks like he’s got the A or a FH when he’ll😂are into 2 players.

@PamelaRomanelli9 күн бұрын
Not a good fold. With Mike's line after flop and turn, it's a bad bad fold. A player like Ivey doesn't lose value on the turn with a nut flush draw, even if it's a four card draw. Especially against a closed player like Mike. With Ace/x Phil bet or raise the turn. This was the right thing to think. So the raise at the river is not so impressive. Easy call for me. Even against a genius. And that check at the turn by Mike said Phil Mike had not the nuts. So Phil was pretty sure his raise would been successful. By the way, is the only hand not remarkable. The other are a very good lesson about Texas hold em. Sorry about my English. But I think it's understandable...😂

Matusow hand is that he was watching Phil Ivey playing another guy when Phil had the case Ace (nuts) and the Hero had the same hand (K of clubs - 2nd nuts) and he ended up calling and losing to Phil's better flush and Mike jumped down his throat "That was SUCH AN UNBELIEVABLY STUPID CALL". And here we see why M. M. folded, ONCE AGAIN he was ABSOLUTELY SURE Phil must have the one hand that's beating him.

Ivey could have full houses with K2s and 22 when he bets the flop. He also could have A2-AJ of diamonds. However, I think he would continue betting the turn with these hands. Once he checks the turn, his hand seems like KJ or KQ. So yea, I agree with you that Ivey doesn't really have an Ace of diamonds in this spot. He still could have a some boats like 44 or 55. What do you think are some of his bluffs?
@friendli294 ай бұрын
@@RoyalFlushMediaCompany I have a hard time understanding this analysis of poker. At the highest level, both players are aware of W position + X hand + Y board = Z play, so... why would a player always do Z? Sometimes, it's even more likely a player has X hand if they *dont* do Z, because then your opponent may think you are strong and trying to convince them you are weak. The layers of bluff-double bluff-triple bluff seem so never ending, I don't understand how you can make decisions based off of this alone. I think the very best players take that information, and synthesise it with reads and psychology. They check it against what they know about the individual player they are up against. It's never as simple as X hand = Z play.
@pearljam_1Ай бұрын
@@friendli29exactly. The cards are a just a piece of that equation. The feel of the game including player tells can be a big part of the equation as well. Deception is the name of the game, so being consistent with what one “should do” or “naturally would do” won’t win you much money. I think being consistently inconsistent, like Ivey, makes it hard to make any assumptions. And let’s face it - much of what we saw in this video was just big stack bullying.
