Forgive the onslaught of questions, but it just makes me super sad since I've been listening to Jane's Addiction since 1993. 1. How far into the show were they? 2. Was the only issue that Dave's guitar was too "loud"? Isn't that the Sound Engineer's job? (I'm NOT implying Perry was in the right, just to be clear.) 3. From the clip I have seen, the band was amazing and Perry was just kind of yelling?

That particular Ronald the Clown/Scene Kid Rock tantrum is precisely why I will *never* respect him as a man. Well-connected young adults look pathetic when they go all "mY fAtHeR wIlL hEaR oF tHiS". This is a middle-aged adult, confronting another middle-aged adult who I can only assume is quite a loser in his own right. All he had to do to "win" was to not even dignify the guy in the crowd with a response.

Important things to consider about a couple of these: 1. Courtney Love has had to deal with crap from "fans" for so long, including really obnoxious antics like this Brazilian fan pulled off. I don't blame her one bit for being upset. 2. The front man from The Vines is autistic and that adds another layer to why he completely melted down during that live performance. Hours of intense rehearsal and overstimulation drove him into that direction. I felt horrible watching that footage.

The Disturbed one is weird. People are on phones all the time at show for a variety of reasons. We wouldn't have most of this footage if it wasn't for people with phones. However, people use their phones for all sorts of reasons. It could have been someone making notes for a review which would have become a particularly scathing review after an incident like that.

There was a band on Letterman that the audience reacted well to, and Dave asked them to play it again. They seemed to be totally flummoxed by the request. The Jane's Addiction meltdown is really sad to be since I've been into Jane's Addiction since 1993. They were such a highly respected band that was weird, cool and could seemingly do anything. Perry being intoxicated and going after Dave over his guitar being too "loud" is just heartbreaking for several reasons, one of which being he probably feels he can't perform unless intoxicated. This being the apparent end to such a legendary band means the future generations probably won't have Jane's Addiction to discover. This will be their legacy and it is a TRAGIC waste! I am hoping a comeback can happen.
