I loved this drama, and have watched it so many times, I don't have to read the subtitles any more! There are so many wonderful scenes, but some of my favorites: the border scene where he runs back to her; the squad's reaction when Captain Ri admits he lied; the con man who tells Seri the harsh truth; the NIS guy who was so exasperated at the younger guy and exclaims "it's clear as day" the Captain is in love; the first episode where the SK and NK captains have to trust each other and the pathos of both being Korean, speaking the same language and of the same cultural background, but actually now enemies; the drunk scene with Seo Dan; all the scenes with the village military wives; the pathos of Man Bok with his wife where he tells her he loves his country but is so troubled by his job; the evilness and corruption, and trying to survive in such a difficult regime; and of course, Seri falling from the sky into the Captain's arms, and her expression when she realizes it. Another favorite scene is when the Captain gives Seri the couple rings. Hyun Bin's expressions and nervousness is wonderfully acted. I could go on and on, and probably have, but you can see I find this one a classic, and really enjoyed your video. Thank you.

I am an Australian fan of many K dramas, when I had the time a couple of years ago. My favourite scenes in this one, are the lead Actor's North K Father dealing with the lead Female Actor, hilarious, just like all the underling Army lads plotting stuff, cracked me up. The Direction is brilliant, 😉.

Thinking about Hyun Bin running back across the border with one handcuff on can still bring tears to my eyes. It seems to encapsulate the pain inflicted on not just these lovers but humanity that is suffering under harsh regimes.

Captain Ri’s crew in South Korea. Their dalliances are hilarious with the best scene being the reindeer cap. Also the South Korea intel scenes reporting on Cap Ri’s gentlemanly behavior is incredibly clever. There are SO many ingenious things going on in this it’s hard to pick.

Hard to pick one part. The one that gets me is when he runs to his parents house to find out what happened to her. It broke my heart. I am 80 and it is the best thing I have seen in my entire life. So funny, so sad and so very romantic.

I am a little late to this drama, but after finishing my first watch I must say the scene when father shows up in the woods to pick up his boy and his amazing friends about to be killed and buried was impactful. You can tell where Captain Ri has got his flare for being protective and picking the right moment to be ruthless. There are of course a lot of wonderful moments in this drama, I love a lot of the characters, but somehow, that was unexpected when you first met the old man in his comfortable livingroom. He seemed more like a puppet master than a man of action. You got to understand why those around him feared him, even though his beloved son maybe not fully understod why until that day.

So many scenes!!!!!!! When captain ri raises the scented candle to find her in the market!!!! When captain Ri kissez her in the rain. When captain Ri finds her in the snow when seri drove the car finishing oil, he turns back, doesn’t utter a word and only hugs her!!!!!! When he finally sees off at border of korea after walking whole night, and bids her farewell with a deep, passionate kiss!!!!!!! When he goes back to south korea to protect her. The ring scene. The NIS senior official could realise why both of them were lying. The N Korean military father could feel son's emotion for a south korean lady!!!!!! Amazing. Captain ri making coffee, noodles for seri in 2nd episode!!!!!!! The scene of captain Ri waiting outside of Seri cubicle with no words, only tears!!!!! How could his eyes were only telling the whole love story. The respect shown for Seo Dan by two male leads. Two generation love depicted equally parallelly!!!!!!!!!!! Low human rights of N korean army officials. Every expression of captain ri towards his company showing respect and love!!!!!!
