It's not Rob, yeah obviously. But before complaining keep in mind that Priest reached out to Tim. Not the other way around. He was a local musician and a HUGE fan of Judas Priest (still is) with notable talent that attracted THIER attention. I think he did a great job especially considering the huge shoes needing to be filled. He was given a chance of a lifetime to perform with his favorite band for close to 8 years and put a different flavor on the music he so enjoys. The guy has talent and pipes! May not be your choice for Priest but give the guy some credit for his abilities and heart. Check my facts you say?? We have beers, wings, and do some karaoke time-to-time. He can't replace Robs spirit in these songs but musician wise he was a great singer and I think he did really well in what was a mighty difficult position to fill.
@Maddogg-hg5me6 ай бұрын
Totally agreed. All the haters can go pound sand. Judas Priest was never going to be the same without Rob Halford but they found a guy singing in a Priest tribute band that had the pipes to do justice to all the material and who could put his own twist on the material (because he's NOT Rob, obviously). Let's face it: as much as the haters bitch about the Ripper era, they would've taken the opportunity to sing in their all-time favorite band if they'd been given the opportunity. Ripper lived the dream.

alright i usually dont like any replacements. but this guys got talent. He ...hits the notes, is powerful and has the feel. Theres no replacement for Rob Halford..hes a very unique spirit. Ripper kicks ass. I think he did an excellent job as the front man of Priest. He was asked by the band, not the other way around. And he did Priest serious justice - like no one else could've even dreamed of. This man is a pure class act, and has a vocal range that is out of this world. He can sing damn near anything, not just Halfords scale. My hat is off to you, sir. You kept one of my favorite bands not only touring, but also made some killer new music along the way. Everything they did with this man belting out the lead vocals, was great, in my opinion.

For starters when you fill Rob Halfords shoes the way Ripper did and there's no debating he filled those shoes WELL! Ive been a major Priest and Halford fan all my life and still am, but thats what u have to remember with Owens, he didn't write any of the songs he was masterfully reproducing us so to expect the same emotion from him as the ones that that did put their feelings in to it is never gonna happen! As for his expressions and presence, have you listened to him sing? He could come out wearing a pokidot banana hammock riding a unicycle and nobody would leave! lol He's was just having the time of his life and im cool with it all! I get it that Tim Owens isn't everybody's cup of tea for the gig, but reading a lot of the comments makes me think of a little something from when I last saw Adam Lambert + Queen. Lambert does the usual stage patter, with his comments about "I can't believe I'm up here with Queen", and then it's something along the lines of "Oh, I can hear some of you now....'He's not Freddie!" [pause] "NO SHIT." Just sit back and enjoy the music, be it this one, or a video of Rob Halford singing it.

Tim is awesome and he was probably the best replacement for Rob that they could possibly get, but I also feel that Rob Halford is simply better at expressing his emotions with his voice. Like You know, what Gary Moore could do with his guitar? He made it cry, howl and weep, and that is the feeling I get listening to Rob. It brings me to tears, it touches my soul. When I listen to Tim I think "wow this guy is great", and he is, but just not that nuanced.
