After some calculation, with the normal battery, one should travel at a maximum of 7.2 kilometers to not lose those extra 2.8 kilometers you lost while coming home. To return at exactly 0% remaining, you need a modded battery of 2,340mah. Also, kudos to the pilot! That is very risky.

You'll usually get blue/purple discoloration on the feed if the battery is critically low. I guess the camera is not getting enough power.

The blue colors showing on your screen is the system showing you are under exposed (too black) in those areas. Your exposure compensation was set to +1/3, so maybe jack it up to +2/3 or 1/2.

Very nice trial indeed. But you could force drone to approach you better. I saw guy on KZbin that was coming to home with literally 0 battery about from 1 km rest over Pacific Ocean. On the case of that kind of range test, a car should be ready to go emergency landing area :)

At 5-10 mins left sa flight time, its best to find a landing place away sa bakuran o inside compounds kasi problema pagpapasok kung stricto mga tao. What you did was risky since your drone can land in tall trees, roofs in houses or buildings or worst in a group of people.

Next time, if it will be next time, before start descend and lost a signal couse of it, Look down with camera and try to find out best spot for landing. Sometimes you can manage flat and secured surface and you will minimise chance of damage

For signal booster or extenders, no, I did not use any, the Mini 2's Occusync 2.0 is strong enough to control the drone 10 kilometers away as long as there are no mountains blocking the line of sight. But for the battery, I used a moded battery from 2250 MAH to 3600 MAH, that gave me 30 minutes flight time

Man, of course you flew there with a slight breeze up there. There was no power to go back because you were flying into a light breeze. You must learn to read the gyro. You will know whether you are going with the wind or against the wind. I have a 10.5km back and forth flight to my credit because I have mastered power management to perfection. Good luck.

Ah man, that sucked to watch. I just got flashbacks... This is why I never do these super long range tests, because I lost two drones doing this and I’ve never done it again. Lesson learned. Why would anyone want to fly out that far anyway, especially when the battery has a limit of its own? I understand that some do it for the testing purpose. But if you cherish your expensive drone, it’s just best to stay within a comfortable range.

Maybe you need to find a higher spot when flying and keep the point of your antenna pointed at the drone, its what I did here and it worked ^^
