Lesson 7 really spoke to me. Ive always been rushing life trying to reach the ''End goal'' and not letting myself enjoy what i already have right now. As ive grown a little bit older - and wiser i do notice that high perceived efficiency does not stack up well against total efficiency. Things rushed through just a few years ago that i now take it slow but steady on the same task resulted in much greater output. Just the thought of it would probably be deemed as crazy from my past self. Great video as always Joel.

haha, not that kind of influencer (yet!). 3-4x per week, PPL, I try to focus just on enjoying the lift and not worrying too much about how I'm developing (used to be more focused on gains but now I'm just content with feeling good)

Idk Joel. I’m torn when I watch this one. I know the personality traits that I takes to be successful, to get to the top & earn a good income. Aggressiveness, assertiveness, impatience are all really important. (Not to say they don’t come with side effects) Some of the lessons you go though in this video I’ve been thinking about for years & I always circle back & think , no I need to be this way. It’s gotten me to where I am right now & will take me to where I need in the future. I havnt hit my number yet & I continue to claw towards it every day. I’m a big advocate of doubling down while you’re young, have little responsibility, no children etc. in order to relax when you get older. Now I’m speculating here but after you hit your number do you think you went soft on this principle? Also do you think that since now you’re able to relax a bit more, that you’re saying to yourself “well I should have just been this chill the whole time”. & that wouldn’t be a bad thing it could be a side effect of being comfortable finally, if not almost there. Lmk what you think.

My thoughts almost exactly. When you're not "there" you almost can't even let yourself be too comfortable. It's hard to turn that hustle mentality off.
@jmey

I actually don't think most of what I said is in disagreement with this. If you have a habit, you can ask yourself "does this still serve me?" and choose whether to keep it or not. If it does, for example your "want it now" pushes you harder - you can choose to keep that habit. It's serving you in some way. But you can still focus on the moment (what you control) and choose to find enjoyment while doing it. Impatience with action, patience with results simply means do what's within your power but focus on the process not the outcome. Everyone eventually gets what they deserve.

My friend i will tell you something, i read what you wrote in your bio "happy, healthy, and wealthy" i will ask you something, you are 31 years old and you think happy, healthy and wealthy going together ? you think it's the right formula to live a good life ? many at your age thinking that and try to be more and more wealthy. They doing complicate things trying to achieve that but at the end they lost things that are more essential in life. Things that you don't understand now how important they were when you left or you did aside. i will not tell you anything cause i am sure you will not understand but you will find out in the future. Maybe if you will not give up your channel after 10 years you will probably make video about what wrongs you made in this decade. Anyway i wish you all the best!

@@jmey You know I almost never listened to my father. i understand what he wanted to say but i thought i could probably do better and i thought i had better solutions. Now i completely understand him but it's too late. You know i was smartass, egocentric, i was read many books and i had thought so much in my life that i thought i know almost anything. I always was one of the cleverest person in school and after in college, everything i done were successful and i didn't gave attention in simple things in life. Sometimes the simplest things are the most important but when you start understand that it's too late. Sometimes you should experience some things to understand them. The mania to make money to become wealthier thinking you will be happier that way or thinking if i become more wealthy you could probably afford to your family better financial comfort and in that way you will be happier, sometimes it's wrong thinking that. You should put barriers on that and you should know how to manage better yourself but when you are smartass and you think you know many things, it blinds you and you can't do that. i know that i was smartass and egocentric and i thought i should do something to improve myself but even that i didn't do anything about it. I made the most mistakes in that decade between 30-40, mistakes that gave me much pain.

@@jcoolverine3483 so what advice do you offer?
@jcoolverine3483
@jcoolverine3483 2 жыл бұрын
@@dentaladdict98 well my advices are in simple things. They are simple but not easy. Maybe this formula don't work for everyone cause not all are in the same stage of life or they think they doesn't have meaning for them but at the end everyone search for this things but the most time it's too late. First of all take your time to manage yourself better, find yourself and understand what it really matters most in life. Alongside you should try to find what job it really suits for you. Everyone in this planet is good at something and you should try to see in you what is this thing. it's very important to do the job that you really like it's one of the meaning in life . Finding the job that you love it's not only will it not burden you mentally but you will also be good at your job so you will be able to cope and you will be able to provide your family with a good financial situation. Now if you do not make a lot of money from the profession you do (due to profession) you can do something extra to provide you with more money. But the job is not the most important meaning of life. The most important thing is love. Even if chaos overwhelms you and you feel that the ground is disappearing from your feet at that moment the only thing you will think and make you feel blissful, are your loved ones. Try to find someone that will (truly) loves you and you love this person back. it's not that simple it's actually really hard and you need to work on it every day for the rest of your life but it;s worth it and you will understand when you will find out. If you want to achieve something important in life try this one and if you want to achieve that like i said before start by improving and manage better yourself. it's very big conversation what is true love and it's very difficult to analyze here. Also even i was one the most cleverest people in school and collage, i have one big difficulty in learning languages. For me trying to write all this things it take me so much time plus i made many mistakes and it's actually the half of what i am thinking. Anyway the last but not least is to find the courage to face difficult situations. This one is even big conversation.
