Bring back the “Savage from a faraway land”, like the Ugandan Giant Kamala, Wild Samoans, or George the Animal Steele. The typical unstoppable force impervious to pain and can be used for classic comedy trope of “the fish out of water”. Plus, Repo Man isn’t a bad guy, he’s just doing his job.

Back when i wrestled the indies in europe, there was a guy playing Johnny bravo, he even had a knockoff theme song like the show. It shouldnt have worked but somehow he made it, the crowds were into it, his in character promos were absolute fire, and he was good worker in the ring

And there’s a local wrestling promotion (MEGA Championship Wrestling) doing a show there, where the wrestlers are cosplaying. Gimmicks that are better left in the past; 1. Clowns: Matt Borne as Doink was one of a kind, and anything else would be a ripoff. 2. Superheroes: what may work in countries like Mexico and Japan can only come across here as WTF. At least I think so. Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee are exceptions, though. 3. Politicians and bureaucrats: do we really need another JBL or IRS? 4. Ethnic stereotypes: especially if we're at war with the foreign dictator. I mean, having an Israeli colonel enter the ring is just asking for trouble.
