When I worked at McDonald's in the late 90". We threw away so much food it made me sick. We had a population of many homeless there too. So I started giving the shaker salads and the yogurt parfaits to the homeless at end if day when we were supposed to throw it all in trash. I was actually fired due to that but my morals were in place. I NEVER EAT at McDonald's because I think it's nasty

Home cooking is the best option only as long as you can trust the cook. I know people who claim to be great home cooks but then I observed that they prep the food on dirty counters using dirty utensils and never washing their hands. I guess that the moral is to trust yourself but keep an eye on everyone else. Your germs and contamination is OK (you have a tolerance to it) but everyone else's germs can make you sick.

I do too. At least I know what's in it and that it's hygienically prepared. I've been to a couple of McDonald's places and the restaurant benches, tables & chairs were dirty. Same goes for their floors and windows. One store had a long line of customers waiting for service but only one girl serving. We left. Another place in town had a homeless man going through the rubbish bins inside the restaurant, searching for some food to eat. McDonald's is not the cheap and affordable meal it once was. It's pricey for what you're getting. The burger I bought looked small. The fries over salted. I wish they sold cans of drink instead of in cups.

Toxins fom processed food build up in your body. Alot of the chemicals stay in your body unless you exercise regularly and eat healthy inbetween, toxins can stay in your body for years, eating McD's every 1 to 2 weeks your body can still build up many toxins. I can eat a small bowl of ice cream everyday and still be healthy. But what is in that ice cream? Cream, milk, sugar, real vanilla beans? Or does it have High Fructose Corn Syrup, artificial coloring/flavors and 10 or 20 ingredients in it? Fructose is one of the worst sugars you can consume, it sky rockets insulin levels and linked to diabetes and obesity. Plenty HFCS is used in Mc D's. Soybean oil is also another contributor to major health problems. It oxidized easily in your body and hardens your arteries causing cardiovascular issues and circulatory problems just to name a couple. But if that sounds good to you by all means you choose what you want to eat.

About a month ago, our family decided to go to McDonalds for dinner. I hadn't been there for many years. I enjoyed my Big Mac, so before we left I bought another to take home. I figured I'd have it for lunch the next day. So when I was ready to have it, I carefully extracted the burger patty so I could heat it in the microwave. After about 20 seconds I began to hear some popping, which rapidly increased. When I opened the microwave door to investigate, I found the "hamburger" patty had shrunk to half its original size and become much stiffer. I had never seen a hamburger patty behave that way before even though I had microwaved burgers from other fast food restaurants in the past. I could only assume that what looked like hamburger in that Big Mac wasn't actually hamburger, but was actually some sort of imitation hamburger. It will be many years before I go to a McDonalds again.

I work at McDonalds: 1. Accurate 2. Accurate 3. Statistically Accurate (Nothing we can really do about it) 4. Accurate at the time of recording, no longer accurate with the higher wages starting at 12.25 an hour for part-time and 15 an hour for full time. (If you see an employee hanging out at the cash register doing nothing, PLEASE DON'T USE THE KIOSK, they are more than likely a younger employee who is not legally allowed to work with food.) 5. We do create a lot of food waste, but fries don't have a 7 minute limit. We will still use them as long as they aren't rubbery or cold. 6. It is true that a lot of chemicals are used in the production of McDonald's food, but the ways they are used are studied and tested, found to be harmless. However, just like cookies and sodas you don't want to have to much at once. 7. The food actually does decompose and grow mold, one thing that has been found is that the tested food for these studies weren't properly exposed to air. They would just get stale and crusty like any other bread. 8. Accurate 9. This isn't accurate at time of this comment being made. They are still VERY high in sugar, but the frappes are made with the syrup blended with ice. The ice cream machines now are actually quite reliable and are cleaned at a MINIMUM interval of 2 days. 10. Obviously statistically accurate

It's a little different in international overseas MxD's, for example the ones in China serve Chinese versions of the food, and the Chinese make their food a bit clenaer and less american-preserved, and use NONGMO when possible in most of their foods, so it is mostly Monsanto-controlled countries that mostly dish up GMOs-pesticides-preserved-foodstuffs/FAKE-foodstuffs than in other Eastern European countries or China. You can watch how it's made and learn how other foods in other countries are made also.
@dancingqueendc3 жыл бұрын
And Cuba before they opened up their doors, only had mostly local organically grown foods and rejected gmo-fast-foods/preserved foods. They were not allowed to trade and moat of the Caribbean island countries had to depend mostly on locally grown more sustainably grown foods than expensive imports fro USA/FL etc. Only the foods at Americam- tourist controlled locations served more American-preserved-foodstuffs than local businesses. And I have no idea why my former ex used to ant to go to American restaurants like Domino's and the lot when we went to vacation in Caribbean or Mexico when the local restaurants/businesses farmers markets sold better quality fresher food....that is why he's my ex also....

I usually say you wouldn't condone advertising cigarettes and alcohol to children would you? And they say "Oh, that's different". Why is it less negatively impactful on their health? Whatever. There are laws in other countries. For instance European countries and Middle Eastern ones don't allow processed meats to be fed to children in schools. I will never understand the obsession that so many people have with McRibs. To be fair, I only tried the sandwich once. However, once was enough to realize that the McRib is nearly identical to the boneless rib sandwiches that we would have a few times a year in school lunch. The only difference is that the rib sandwiches at school didn't have the barbeque sauce. Who else had them at their school?

I have for years wished the health department would require restaurant restroom doors to push to get out so after washing hands you didnt have to touch door handle and to require restrooms to have paper towels instead of blow dryers. Yes! As a past grill cook for McDonald's, it always disgusted me how the sandwich line did the meats I cooked. They wouldn't even let me put the bins in the slots. It was totally disgusting. I certainly DO NOT trust McDonald's anymore. The McDonald's my son worked for got shut down for 6 weeks because people were getting sick off the fries. I was working at another McDonald's across town, but have volunteered at my son's store when the were low on staff. Their fryer oil looked a bit iffy to me. Anyway, I got sick off of the fries, at my son's store, one night. I was so sick I had to go to the hospital. I was kept over night. They hooked me up to IV fluids. The next day, after I was released from the hospital, I went straight to that Mc Donalds and told management what happened. The manager didn't seem to too concerned, so I called corporate and they came out and shut it down.

@@mitch42165 Say what?? Do you know what year it's and how people are now? People will come inside or drive around to the window nowadays and get out to cut in front of the person at the window just to get fresh stuff now if they try that. Lol

As a longtime customer i have found walking in is faster. There are crews covering both ends. The drive thru cars wait single file and take longer to do their transactions.
@fartwrangler5 жыл бұрын
If there's so much emphasis on speed in the drive through, why have so many McDonald's added drive through PARKING, where they make you pull forward and wait for your order? My local McD's frequently has up to four "drive through" customers waiting in parking spaces. I get faster service for them by going inside. As far as poop in your drink -- as they said, they found it in the ice. Just order your drink with NO ICE -- it's cold, anyway.

You know why it's a low-paying job? Because McDonald's is - you know - an ENTRY LEVEL JOB. Have we forgotten what that means?
@ohger4275 жыл бұрын
They throw around the term "living wage" like its a civil right, just ask Bernie sanders....They fail to realize if an individual chooses not to put forth the effort in training and commitment.....They are not equal to a company CEO who has. I blame participation trophies and the fact they no longer expose young people to failure to protect their feelings.....Everybody gets an "A"....
@bres50105 жыл бұрын
Um entry level haha sure yet I can almost guarantee all those high paid execs COULD NOT perform to the level they EXPECT the "entry level" people to perform at!! I started at McDonald's when I was 16 so yeah I get entry level and granted pay has gone WAY up but imagine working at $5.15 an hour and ur first raise being $0.10 boosting u to $5.25 (even in '97 that was barely enough to cover a combo WITH ur 10% discount) besides not all fast food employee's are entry level and despite what some may believe manager pay ISN'T that much better! Besides that if u think dealing with rude entitled people who treat u like crap (cause ur working an "entry level" job) isn't worth making enough to live off of then I'm guessing u personally have never had to do it!
@bres50105 жыл бұрын
@@ohger427 u have got to b joking right now SERIOUSLY! I *GUARANTEE* u that if u were to put a CEO in the same position as me I'd run circles around them! I'm not saying ALL but most people with ur assumption & those ur describing are entitled silver spoon babies who were handed everything money could buy! I've NEVER been given a "participation" trophy and despite making less then nothing I ALWAYS gave 110% & went above and beyond WITH a smile yet oddly I'm still not a CEO(nor do I believe a CEO has ever generally set foot in a single store in a working position 🤣 cracks me up just imagining one trying tbh) hmmm guess that theory is WRONG!

That's part of the reason why when my grandfather's friend on my dad's side and I order fries, we are happy when the fries come right out of the fryer. That actually happened one time, what my grandfathers friend does most of the time when we eat out is that he waits until about the time that I'm almost done eating my mcnuggets, and then he goes up and orders the french fries. But, one time, he went up and ordered a thing of fries, and after a few minutes, he saw them (the mcdonalds emplloyees) pull a fresh set of fries out of the fryer. That's part of the reason why a few articles tell you that if you want fresh fries, tell them no salt fries, that way you get hot and fresh fries. Just a tip.
@elymccoy8386 жыл бұрын
I worked for McDonald's for 3 years and am here to tell you the waste is a lie. burgers sit in the landing zone until they are sold or the bun gets hard (which ever one happens first), the meat timers are usually not set or just reset when it goes off until the meat is sold, and the fries are just redropped back into the hot oil for a few seconds to "freshen" them up; I have even seen my manager grab lettuce back out the trash can during prep time between breakfast and lunch,pull the bad parts off and put the good parts back into the container with the good lettuce. don't be fooled by this. or either it was just my store managers not wanting the waste so cost so high that it'll affect their bonus.

Samuel Montgomery Exactly. Everyone wants to talk about a raise. Dude, you’re on the bottom of the totem pole. Of course you’re not going to make the same amount as someone who climbed the ladder. With a computer, you just eliminated those who constantly run late, healthcare, human error, time wasted by letting workers take breaks (a legal requirement), etc. If you want a raise, make sure you can’t be replaced.
