The "Just Cause" series is my guilty pleasure. It's not the best story, the voice acting is usually cheesy, but the world in the games eventually look beautiful and the Grapling Hook/Parachute mechanic is INSANELY FUN to the point where you can spend hours flying around blowing shit up!

Sometimes all you need is the entertainment factor. Just cause was never supposed to be God of War levels of story and character development, but the freedom and craziness is what sells it. And it delivers.

I will die in this hill that Crackdown 3 was extremely fun to play, and I put like 80 hours into it, just to complete all the achievements. Was it innovative? No. Did it do anything new that the original game didn't? Nope. But in my opinion, it really didn't need to. But I would love to see a reboot of the Crackdown franchise, with a bigger emphasis on story and maybe even add character creation and customization for your Agent. Maybe a more deep hand to hand combat system to accompany the already great weapons. Those few additions would breathe a new life into the franchise.

@EbiLMunkeY All 3 were fun. The 2nd game was kinda janky feeling, though, not gonna lie. But Crackdown 3 was just as fun as the first. I think people were mad because it was way overhyped to be something bigger but ended up feeling too much like the original. But for me, that was enough. I didn't need too much more. They upped the visuals a decent amount and added some better weapons and slightly bigger variety of enemy types. That was enough for me.

It's annoying when it's trendy to hate on something because anyone who disagrees is labeled a fanboy or a liar. I enjoy games that are mindless fun. @@pansnemesis Dynasty Warriors 4 and 5 are about the oldest I've played and can recommend, with 7 and 8 being the best of the more modern games. Avoid 9 because it's about as bland and boring as the series can get because of the oversized open-world it's got. If you're not as interested in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms story or already seen it then you've got the Empire games which pretty much skip it and let you create your own characters. Then for spin-offs we've got Samurai Warriors, which focuses more on Japanese stuff with Warriors Orochi being a combination of Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors. Dynasty Warriors Gundam and Hyrule Warriors I have played and can recommend, Gundam more specifically if it's a franchise you enjoy and want to see characters from different Gundam shows interact. Persona 5 Strikers and Fire Emblem Warriors I've heard good things about and others I've only seen little bits of gameplay and can't really say much about.

Time shift is still one of my favorite games solely because of its time mechanics that no other game has replicated. I remember the first time playing and watching the rain stop mid air then go back into the sky when you rewound time. I was so mesmerized. Couldn’t tell you Jack about the story, but If they redid this game with modern graphics it would be amazing just as a time manipulation simulator

I loved Time Shift too. Also Singularity and this is embarrassing but why not...... All the Serious Sam games. AND Just Cause. The latter two are bonkers, no story exactly, but damn good fun. There's a game I can not remember the name of, but I do remember getting the "Dubstep Gun" 🤪😆 SAINT'S ROW, damn that was doing my head in trying to remember the bloody name of the stupid game.

MK Armageddon felt more like they tried too hard to do Tekken/Soul Calibur with the larger focus on 3D movement and the 3D arenas. It ended up just being kinda okay, but the overall package was a blast and came about during the peak of the couch multiplayer games.

It's stupid and cheesy, but it's honestly some of the most fun third-person shooting I've experienced in a game. It's one of those yearly 'knock out in an afternoon' titles for me. The Legend of Korra wasn’t a classic by any means but the combat was the most satisfying avatar game we’ve ever gotten. Any slander of Astral Chain is just off limits, unique, fun, and of course the combat was amazing.

This proves that not every game has to be “10/10 - GOTY” There is fun to be had in a lot of games that may not be the best overall, or have amazing stories or huge open worlds - sometimes you just want to dive in and screw around and have fun. I always wanted to try out “Wanted: Dead,” looks perfect for a Steamdeck vacation afternoon.

Oh wow. Crackdown! I still remember how I got drawn to KZbin back in the day. It was a video from Crackdown 2 14 years ago someone posted on 4ch. The rest, as they say, is history. I never played any of these. My first thoughts of just dumb fun was SR3 and SR4. Aside from that popping zombies heads in RE was my go to chill experience.

Shadow Warrior 3 is my favorite game in the franchise! It's the best one by far IMO
