From a style perspective a weekender might look better than a backpack. However, It will ruin your back and will eventually cause pain due to asymmetrical load. So a backpack is still the better option. Health > functionality > style

Great video as always! I did want to talk about backpacks while traveling however. I noticed all airport I travel through, everyone had a backpack(I was looking to see how many people followed the no backpack rule). It didn't mater if they were wearing suits or comfort clothes, Would you say backpack could be worn while traveling or are you still very much against them?

I have one rule when wearing any button up Oxford type shirt of any kind and that is I always no matter what wear an under T-shirt. I not only hate seeing outer guys armpit sweating profusely with a huge sweat mark or stain in their dress shirt and I hate if that’s happening to me as well though I sweat no where as profusely. But I hate like hell sweat staining my shirts. So I always wear an under T-shirt and it do not bother me to do so.

Right off the jump, #1… I was a teen in the 90s and something about baggy or bootcut jeans feels very comfortable. It took WAAAY too long to feel anything but weird in regular straight cut jeans.

Just because something is comfortable doesn’t mean it looks good though I do have to agree. Once I started wearing slimmer and better fitting clothes it did feel odd at first. Now I just can’t look back. I do wear the occasional loose fitting pants at times but it’s definitely lounge wear at this point and not my go to. More like cloudy cooler evening

99.9% agree! To clarify the oversize rodeo belt buckle, real ones are not purchased in stores. They are a trophy won in one of the rodeo sports. Real ones are worn with wrangler cowboy cut jeans, cowboy boots and shirt with snaps. They are worn to special events like a rodeo for example, not to aisle 4 at Krogers.

Hi Ashley! I love all of your advice, but I’m quite conflicted on backpacks. My work is in fitness, so I’m always in gym attire for my job. I have a solid minimal black backpack for work, but I feel using a messenger bag or briefcase with gym attire would look odd. Do you recommend sticking with the backpack with gym attire or something else?

Check out either a leather weekender bag, or a minimalist polyurethane duffle. The Command the Day Large Duffle Bag from Lululemon is a great example.

I second the weekender suggestion. Many style and size options, and it's better for your back to do a farmers carry with your gear. Bonus: many have seperate shoe compartments or wet clothes dividers.

Not only practicality. It is also a lot healthier to use a backpack due to the symmetrical load. A weekender might look better. But it is not worth having back pain years later

Find an actual Levi’s store and try on the different types. Also wear the footwear you intend to as it makes a huge difference. They have multiple leg lengths and waist size combos and the staff will know how to help you because its pretty much all they do.

Like the other person said, a more expensive material like suede, maybe in a shade of brown, would look absolutely fine on someone who isn't a teenager/early 20s anymore. Additionally, a clean looking dark blue denim trucker jacket would probably look good as well assuming the rest of your outfit is reasonably mature and put together. I hope this helps!

Not sure about the white socks. If your wearing chunky sneakers like Air Force one's & you have big feet, it can make you look like your wearing clown shoes if people see your ankles so white socks with white shoes will make your ankles look bigger & more proportioned to your feet

While slim fit jeans is a classic and never go out of style, these few years men's style has come back with more relax fit. The baggy jeans or boot cut is a come back instead of out of style. You have no idea how men suffer with those tight slim fit jeans😅

As far as sunglasses go, I have Ray-Ban round aviators with a gold frame that I enjoy using. The only reason why I got a gold frame is because I wanted all my accessories to match and I wear a gold necklace and my watch is gold as well. Don’t know if that goes against Ashley’s advice but that’s what I’ve been doing.

Acceptable with high top boots. That is what they were designed for. The shin of the boot supports the excess material for a clean look.
