Habit nr 2. I am calling "Clean as you go". It's a game changer. Do not wait for your water to boil standing, grab something and put back or take a towel and wipe🎉🎉🎉🎉

Watching your videos and decluttering along is my new micro habit 😊

I make my coffee soon after I get up. While it is brewing, I clean and fill my dog’s bowls, and out my vitamins out. Pairing the habits mean I never look down at an empty water bowl with guilt 😊

Making the bed is life changing. It's such a simple habit, but it sets the tone for the rest of the day. It keeps me organized and motivates me to clean❤

I remember reading Thoreau decades ago and thinking that I had to quantify my minimalism. Thoreau says we should be able to count what we own on our fingers (and if necessary, our toes). So I arrived at 20 as my magic number. With the wisdom of age, I realize that he is just trying to make me be more deliberate with my actions and possessions. Not to quantify them. I appreciate how you didn't disparage being minimalist or minimalish or minimalistic. It's about the intention, not the definition. Thank you!

Thank you for the idea to remove the social media notification, I didn't think about it but it's already a big thing!!! In the morning I usually make the bed and vacuum and I feel already better, even if there is a mess around me! 😅 And little by little I'm decluttering my apartment, it's a long journey, no rush!! 💪 Have a nice day!! 😉

Yeees, sometimes we don't even realise how distracting all the notifications can be. Amazing job with your decluttering. Small and steady. Thank you for watching! 💛

A twist on your one minute tasks: since simplifying drastically, I hear the words “if it takes less than a minute, do it now.” This has helped me integrate a lot of the habits you mentioned. Stir your coffee with a spoon? Don’t put it in the sink. Rinse and put in the dishwasher. Splatter something on the backsplash. Wipe it now. This has helped my evenings to not end up with a build up of tasks. Living this way means most of my life is just putting things away because I deal with the small messes as they come and cleaning things is no longer a huge ordeal.

Thanks for the tips, a tiny habit I've implemented is preparing my water bottles the night before, so I have them ready on my desk the next day.

Definitely going to try making my bed more consistently now! I’d love to know more about the outbox - I end up just having plastic bags full of stuff clogging up our front room that need to go to a charity shop or whatever, or even worse - piles of loose clothes around the house! I leave them because I think I’ll get to them soon but inevitably sometimes it’s days or weeks…

Hi Jenny! I know the struggle. I'm making it a point to get things out of my house as quick as possible. The outbox is simply that basket where I can put all the things I'm planning of getting rid of. Then when I head into town, I put it in a bag and take it to the charity shop. 💛

Love this Madeline 😊 Your videos are always so helpful & bring me joy 😊 Something I do (I’m not sure what you call it) lol is while my coffee is brewing in the morning I unload our dishwasher to get it ready for the days dishes (We run it after dinner) 😊 I think it may be called habit stacking actually but it helps me keep things going & cleaned up as I do them 😊 Have a great day! 😊🤗

Yeees, habit stacking is something I learned in the Atomic Habits book too. It's so good! Thank you for the kind words, Karri! 💛

Strange question, but where do you put your fruit?
@kerry-anndeakin69018 ай бұрын
Hi, depending on the fruit, it can go between the fridge and cupboard
@madelinehegedus8 ай бұрын
I keep it in an Ikea bowl on the window sill. I just posted my kitchen tour video, if you're curious to see :)
