I used this to warm down after my first time in a gym since my diagnosis 8 years ago and marking two and a half months off of opioid pain medication. Everything is sore, but I’m happy!

I’m 16 and was diagnosed with fibromyalgia a few days ago...since then I’ve had a really bad flare up and was in so much pain while doing school but these stretches really helped a lot. Thank you so much for your positivity!

I'm 54 & have had FM for many years. I was diagnosed in my 20s. Today was a really tough day & my body was so stiff & sore. I have the most stiffness in my legs & find it so hard to walk in my job some days. 😞 I find the pain & stiffness is getting worse as I age & enter into menopause.

I’ve been in pain for so long and it always makes me sad that I know yoga releases the pain but the pain is just so intense I just lay in bed. Thank you for this I feel so much better in just a minute it’s crazy 😯

Beautiful and gentle workout for someone like me who suffers from fibromyalgia, chronic anxiety, panic attacks and lifelong insomnia! Thank you for uploading this workout as very often we fibromyalgics feel we can't exercise because of the excruciating pain and exhaustion often suffered after trying to exercise. This was so beautiful because in some of the positions you were actually hugging yourself and being very self compassionate. Even your voice was very soothing and relaxing. I will be using this and some of your other uploads as now I don't feel like an outsider with a condition many people don't acknowledge or even recognise as a genuinely debilitating disease. It's awful when you feel terrible pain but have to say your fine when people ask because they think "it's all in your mind." Now, I will do these exercises and I will only let a very few trusted friends and family know that I'm trying to improve my FM through gentle care of myself using your uploads. Thanks again.

Wow, thank you so much for this. I have fibromyalgia which caused me to quit my dance career. I've always been so hesitant to try yoga as it's 'not as impressive' as dance and I didn’t want to accept that I have limitations now. Doing this has really helped me realise that even though I can’t push myself as much as I used to, I can still do small things to be less controlled by my pain.

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia about five years ago and I'm actually home sick from work today because of a flare up.☹ My rheumatologist suggested I do yoga and I found your channel. I did this video for the first time and it really helped to loosen up my muscles. Thank you so much!

I’m a social worker who just got diagnosed with fibromyalgia a couple months ago. I thought I was doing great accepting and managing this new condition with all my tools of the trade 😂 but I overexercised last week and have been in pain every day since! It’s easy to get discouraged. Your sincere words of encouragement and reframing made me cry because I felt seen and understood by someone who has had this WAY longer than I. Others have said it here in the comments but thank you for helping us feel less alone! Appreciate this and your other chronic pain videos. :)

I was recently tasked by my doctor to begin with 10 minutes of yoga twice a week for my fibro. Your video has been the most accessable for me as an absolute beginner with a very small space to work in and limited flexibility. Thank you thank you thank you!!

I don’t comment on KZbin normally but I just wanted to thank you for this video. I used to be a professional dancer who was extremely flexible and nowadays I struggle to straighten my legs all the way and walk to and from my college classes. This video is sad for me in a way to see where I was versus where I am now but your words were very encouraging and meant a lot to me. So thank you for what you do!!!

Javing hard time thinking what to do.. I always cry because of pain. And then i saw this video and its my 3rd day doing this excercise. It helps me a lot and im trying to accepts that pain is big but my willingness to ignore it is bigger. Thank you so much

Thank you for this, I truly don't know what to do with this diagnosis, and I'm living a very intense and hard year, that doesn't allow me to rest much. It's been awful, I've been in tears because of the pain more times than I can count, most days of the week really, and I'm barely managing to get even a little sleep. This helped, I'll do it again tomorrow, maybe even tonight. It's good not to feel alone

This was my first time trying gentle yoga with my Fibro & it did make me cry there’s obviously a lot of emotions behind the illness too. I have not stretched or done much physical exercise in the last 2 months so I was a bit stiff & felt that. But now after finishing I feel a bit better, thank you 🥰

First of all that did not feel like 10 minutes it felt like maybe one minute, so that was good, second of all I’m so great full for that excercise because it cracked like all of my sore mucles and popped everything into a place that felt way better. Next time I will have to do it in the morning however because I don’t know how relaxing that was.

Wow….I recently was diagnosed with pelvic floor dysfunction. I sit on the toilet for most of my days crying. While doing this I all of a sudden felt something move and spasm and release and so much relief where I somehow think it stopped my bladder from spasms. I also felt a huge emotional release too where I started crying…I can’t even remember what you said but there was a gentle reminder that definitely made my inner child recognize we need to be patient and give ourselves grace while we figure out this new diagnosis and flare ups Thank you.

Yoga has become so popular. I tried it 20 years ago and I HATED it. But now, I have fibromyalgia and I've heard so many people talk about how yoga has helped with chronic pain. I watched this video in bed, and I am going to add this to my morning schedule. Thank you for sharing

I have never been able to do waterfall before. It has always been difficult and painful. I used a yoga block today where you used a pillow and it felt amazing. So much relief in my back I am so glad I found this video ❤️

Hello mam. Just a while ago i saw these exercise. I tried a little i felt great. To me also my doctor diagnosed with fibromalgia since 2019 after one year treatment . My pains is on and off. Sometimes my pains was unbearable. Thank you for this video. I will surely follow these exercise.

I’m 53 years old I was diagnosed fibromyalgia 3 years a go and 2 years a go I was very healthy and able to do on my own exercise since then I got my 5C and C6 on my spine so painful from my neck up to my shoulder, then Dr gave me enjection epidural! I need to stop my yoga routine. Bit my pain all over my body cried every night couldn’t move my body… now I think I have to comeback yoga. Thank you for sharing 😢❤

My doctor told I have Fibromyalgia last year and i don’t realize this illness. What have you in so much pain but it really does help me in a lot of pain sometime I don’t even be wanting to get up out of bed. I’ll be hurting so bad, but I’m glad it’s a exercise that will help me so I can help myself as well, so thank you so much for this video

I’m glad I found this I tried to stretch on my own but I’ve had a flare up real bad for months along with sciatica I had a bad episode and was in the hospital for a week had to use a walker and all it’s been 18 yrs since my diagnosis I will do these in the morning thank you for this ❤️❤️❤️ it’s been hard this illness is hard 😢 love reading all the positive comments it’s refreshing to see I’M NOT ALONE 💜

Thank you so much for this session. I've done it so many times that I know every word by heart. It has helped me out of a lot of flares since it's the first and until now only session that I've ever found that I always can do without making everything worse. i’m 18 started showing fibromyalgia symptoms 2years ago and i gained so much weight because i just could not work my body and obv the emotional side of fibromyalgia didn’t help but 2 years later i’m done 60 pounds down and i have much more good days then bad days don’t give up guys it does get better once you figure out what works for your body and mental health :)

Thank you so much for this. I tried this morning for the first time. This really helped my pain. I also appreciate your kind words, as this pain has been a challenge in life. When I woke up this morning my body hurt to move and now I can feel my feet on the floor and not that pain. I am going to watch one of your videos every day.

I have endometriosis as well as fibromyalgia and your videos (especially this one) have made me feel comfortable enough to start slowly easing back into exercise. I searched for so long for plans and videos but all were extreme workout videos or not suitable so to have something like this is really special and truly helps. Thank you

I tried mindfulness meditation right before doing this video and it really helped me to connect with where I felt pain and relax. After watching your video most of my pain had eased. Thank you for the help in my journey to better listen to my body and mind. ❤

Joelle thank you so much for these exercises. I've had fibro since I was in my early 20s ( 30 yrs) and this is the first time I've found yods moves that really help. You are a wonderful teacher and so encouraging . I definitely have less pain since starting this program.

I suffer so with fibromyalgia and this was my first time in a long time to do yoga. Thank you for the video and gentle words. Will be back tomorrow to do this. I've noticed when I'm feeling pain and I practice these yoga moves, it makes the pain worse but I'm very relaxed. Some days are easier than others.

Well done listening to yourself, although I wouldn't necessarily keep going if you feel it's making the pain worse as that's not our intent here. Instead, back up the stretch to somewhere that feels more beneficial and comfortable, or feel free to take a different stretch entirely.

I can't thank you enough for this. I have suffered from fibromyalgia for years. That pain coupled with a neck injury from a car accident and a fractured ankle last year had me just about giving up. Thank you so much for this. This and today is my very first yoga video/exercises. I realize you likely won't see this comment given it has been over a year but maybe.... What can I do when my skin hurts so much that getting on my knees/shins for like the child's pose is misery? Same for almost all the poses. I did the best I could but man did it hurt my skin! You're very welcome Estee, and I'm so glad to have you with us! Great job on your first yoga class. And good question about getting on the knees - if that's not comfortable for you, I'd suggest trying a variation on your back instead. You can take basically a supine child's pose with the knees hugging in towards the chest, or you can also keep the feet flat to the floor if that's more comfortable. You should never feel like any pose is making things worse, so don't be afraid to modify to something that feels better for your body! I just found this video. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 8 years ago. I have tried meds, physical therapy and just about everything for relief. I gave up. 3.5 years ago when I got pregnant again and just push through it. My daughter will be 3 in June and she has been doing kids yoga. Thanks for this

I'm not even sure if I have chronic pain, but my usual routine of using a stationary bike isn't ideal, as it often makes my muscular pain worse. I've been trying to adapt everything to how my body works, and then it occurred to me to search for exercises that could help with chronic pain. Just saved this to watch later, and I may try it when I can get myself a yoga mat! I watched a little bit of the beginning, and I can tell you know what you're doing.

Thank you for this video. I love that fact that it is so focused and so short. I can easily fit it into my schedule. I have found that quercetin, taken when I flare, reduces my fibro pain by about 80%. It's otc and has saved my life

This routine has been so good to do. I would love it if it were slightly longer like 15 or 20mins. I wondered if you could use your expertise to put together a routine for long covid sufferers as the senior one isn't quite what I need nor this one although this one is closer, perhaps focusing on problem areas such as leg mobility, shoulder and chest tightness, neck mobility (I've been doing your video on this) and head and also a chakra one for chronic sufferers/seniors/long covid as I couldn't do the one you had. I know you've encouraged suggestions so thought I would ask! Hope you don't mind. I am Enjoying your videos as I try to find the right ones for me. Thankyou for doing them. NAMASTE X

Thank you for getting right into it! I can’t get my leg to cross over as you do at minute 3 and minute 5 in the video, but did my best. Anxious to see how long it takes to gain back that flexibility. I will only be 70 in November, but have been super stiff and trying to remaster flexibility in my body. Am gobbling your videos and just taking the poses where I can comfortably do them. Thank you! 🙏. Hint: Have progressed to being able to get down to the floor and back up, but can’t yet sit on floor with legs crossed.

Hi Kathy, I hope you'll feel better after trying this! It's great to check in on ways to modify in ways that are appropriate for each of our individual bodies. For example, if bringing one knee towards the chest directly over the stomach doesn't work, try bringing it out to the side and bit more and just see how that feels. For any exercise, I'd encourage you to just ask yourself, "does this feel good?" and if the answer is "not really," there's probably a better option to find what DOES feel good. Let me know if there are any specific moves that you're wondering how to modify!

Hi Joelle! Say, do you have a playlist for strengthening exercises (for fibro which I find all of your videos are perfect for the areas I struggle with the most)? I did the lazy glutes one which I am going to be doing a few times a week like you suggested. I also need other ones too, and how awesome it would be to have a playlist of strengthening (with some stretching but mainly strengthening) exercises. I really need to get a program that I need to strengthen all of those fibro affected areas. Mainly, buttocks, hips, thighs, and glutes. I have to take a cushion everywhere I go and sitting is painful unless it’s a chair (like my recliner) where I can move around a lot. It’s just gotten worse as I’ve gotten older 😫. Thanks to you so much!

This was just what i needed, thankyou! I have been wanting to try yoga for a while, to help with the stiffness and aches i have. my fibro doesn't really get in the way of me living my life, I'm still very physically able but i still struggle most days with the stiffness, aches and fatigue. After waking up this morning, feeling worse than usual, i decided i need to just go for it, i found your video and the stiffness has eased so much and i just feel good and positive!!! This video is perfect for beginners and very effective. I can't wait to try out some of your other videos, thankyou 😊
