This man will never understand or know how much he helped me survive years in bed trying to cope with the horrible pain of my rare autoimmune disease, as well as a list of disabilities. Had to quit a job I loved because of it, faced backlash from coworkers I felt close to, and was terribly depressed with the fact a lot of people didn’t know or care that I could barely even move in bed without awful pain. He always jokes about us seeing this stuff on the toilet. But I also saw his stuff in bed a lot in the depths of deepest despair, unable to do much else. Never fails to make me smile at least a tiny bit. It is really fitting he talked about SI when he came to WA and I applaud him for being able to really lighten the mood on tough $h!t and actually address it in ways that make people feel seen and heard. Good job.
